Oh dear, there goes my bubble XD, Thanks Libby for the information, I was indeed expecting something from Franklin haha, now we know we're not gonna get anymore news on this....Probably have to wait for her next concert, which God only knows when, and hope she sings this song or more from the new album which will hopefully be recorded and then possibly uploaded on the internet and shared with us XD....Hayleee I want sample recordings T_T You know, high time she has her own youtube page, where she chumma takes videos from home and puts it up, some activity better than nothing....would build up the needed hype for the album, I hope she has a good plan for the next album, because all the wait and gap is doing no good for the lesser fans, only we are dying here...

I know, it's a bit disappointing to have had the brief excitement of the concert and then be back into the void, so to speak! But at least we have confirmation that a new album is being made next year. For a while I was getting concerned that there might not be an album!

yeh....I never questioned the coming of an album, but I've always wondered, we tend to blame Decca and stuff for poor marketing and stuff, but you know in this era of the internet, we a lot of singers taking it in their own hands really, twitter, facebook and all, posting regular videos to their fans, staying connected, keeping them in touch ALL the time. Hayley seems lazy(for lack of a better word) in doing that, but whatever the plan maybe for the huge suspense, she is no beyonce or adele to just disappear into the wilderness, and come out with a new album after 4 years, and boom worldwide hit. If it's making us diehard fans lose hope little by little, or doubt, then it's doing no good clearly. Now I don't know Hayley's intentions, I may have said whatever I just said, but if Hayley simply doesn't want her new album to blow up, and keep it low, then that's up to her. But it just doesn't seem right, I mean we hear 16 year old Hayley saying how singing is everything for her, and that she wants to do this for the rest of her life, when she's on stage she feels at home and stuff, that is sincere, right? And after years of hard work on this album (which I'm sure she's spending a lot of time and putting a lot of effort on) who wouldn't want it to reach out and be their best hit/breakthrough yet? Where's the fire? Hmmmm....As much as I want to hear about the new album more, I want it to do very well, EXTREMELY well, better than pure, because 4 years is a lot...and this cannot happen without Hayley's effort beyond writing songs and working in the studio. She needs to actively communicate, keep ALL fans in anticipation....that's the only way I see it working. What can we do? Only pray that things work out for the best.

You know, I get the impression that the difference is that there is no pressure, except from the likes of us. She has her own life to enjoy, and has made enough money not to have to worry about where the next meal is coming from. She can take her time. And after all, we all know she sees herself as a musician. She enjoys making music. Being famous is not important to her. As someone once said in a rare video, she has no ego. So I think the new album will be what Hayley wants to do. She probably doesn't care too much about how successful it is in terms of sales. But for me, hearing Hayley doing her own thing is what I look forward to more than anything. Too often in the past, she has played second fiddle to others. She has let others run things, Morrecone and her record company with Hushabye. This time I am hopeful that we will get some original stuff that will have Hayley fully expressing herself. That is worth waitng for im my opinion.

Worth the wait is undeniable. When I mean success I don't mean sales, I mean reach. Every musician would want their creation to be enjoyed by as many as possible. The knowledge that their music is helping people, making their lives even the tiniest bit better urges them to do the, the passion within isn't quiet. Music is not just a hobby for Hayley the way I see it nor is it her only means of livelihood, that's why I don't want to talk about money, nor about how she can enjoy her life and take her own time. She's making this album for a large audience, not just for herself or family or a close circle. So as much as we hope to hear the original stuff from Hayley that we all love, I want it to scale great heights, I mean this kind of talent should not be enjoyed by a minority, isn't that why we take so much pleasure in introducing our friends and family to Hayley and her music? So that's where I'm coming from and this joy of sharing should not be only an effort from our side, but also a lot of work personally by Hayley in 'reaching out' if you know what I mean. But forgive me it's just me wishing all the success in life and in achieving her dreams/goals as a musician.

I understand exactly what you mean, Simba. Your last two posts sum up most of what I have thought previously and in some ways still do. I've often wondered why Hayley doesn't seem to want to promote herself more. I realize she's a fairly humble person, but pride isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially when she's got such incredible talent.

And you sigh about the lack of concerts, yet you sit there and say she doesn't need to be famous. Well, if you want to see her in concert, she's going to have to make some music that she can tour with (and we know she has been). She needs to promote herself. If she's not serious about selling albums, why bother with a big record label like Decca? If her album sales were to do poorly (but I don't think so), Decca might eventually drop her. Nobody wants that! While it may be true record labels can be a hindrance at times, I don't think going independent would would be any better for her, promotions-wise. At least while she has Decca, she can still be promoted on the TV and radio shows, and all that. Of course, right now, fresh in our minds is Hushabye's questionable promotion, and also the memory of Winter Magic's low sales. So it's easy to doubt that Decca will do any better for Hayley this time, either. However, despite my impatience and occasional discouragement, I feel sure this album will do better, be better! We've been told that an album will be made for real soon. I think most of the song creation is finished, and most likely all that needs to be completed is the official recording, music videos, and album photo shoots! It's hard to tell for sure from the Google translation, but I feel sure that's all that is meant by "preprations" for the new album. Because as far as we can tell from the tweets from the past year or so, she's been preparing since May 2014!!

I think what I was trying to say was that Hayley does not promote herself for the sake of it. She promotes only when she has something to promote, such as a new album or concert tour. As a musician she promotes her MUSIC, not so much herself. We have got used to people like KJ and others who want to be in the public eye continuously whether or not they have anything new to offer. Hayley is not like that. I can't imagine her on Strictly for example. I'm sure when the new album appears, Hayley will work hard to spread the news as she always does.

Martin D Okay, that makes sense, Martin. But, she still used to tweet a lot more! I don't really see what the difference is. It's not as if this is the first time she's ever made an album while having a Twitter account. And yes, I feel sure there will be adequate promotion for her upcoming album. It'll be something quite a bit better than a lullaby album, and then they won't have to worry about anyone's due dates. So, hopefully there will be no problem with the timing of the release.

Yes ofcourse we all can agree on that Martin, the thing is not that I want her to update on twitter about her personal life this that no. When I say connect to the audience/fans I mean through her music, like that short casual video of her singing that Cranberries song, recorded in a phone perhaps? on Instagram? She should do more of that, perhaps sing a few lines of a couple of new songs or something, or even covers of other songs for fun, without any music, just acapella, all these things help. And I'm only saying this as she's not been having active concerts either, just so people know she's still there doing great stuff. Definitely Hayley's much more relaxed than some of the more popular singers, having concerts and tours every night, so this shouldn't be really difficult, doing the extra bit...Speaking of which, that instagram video is taken down is it ?

Simba, she did not post that herself. I think it was the guy playing the guitar, I'm not sure, but it was not Hayley who posted it on her instagram page. And yes, it appears to have been taken down. Hmm, did they discover Hayley fans are snooping around? LOL

It's funny but I almost expected her to sound different somehow sonce it's been so long since we've heard her sing. But she sounds just as crisp and lovely as ever
