Lovely tracklist, it's interesting to see that Caledonia is now sung by Susan, so they'd be re-recording it, wondering if everything will be a fresh take....

Looks like Hayley's short period has really established her in the group, I'm sure David Downes would be thrilled at a chance of reuniting for a tour. I love all the girls in the team, but never felt a thing lacking when the other girls left, those group songs, they all sounded great with the new members too, Susan, Lisa Lambe, M. Carlin, at not one point was I like, aww that's Chloe's part I'm missing her voice or Lisa Kelly....(Even though they all have unique and awesome voices), but recently I was listening to the latest "Somewhere over the rainbow" acapella, and boy did I know the difference of Hayley's absense. I think Meav was singing her part, and it was only 3 people now. Hayley's sharp tone added a brilliant edge to the acapella when she hit those high notes which weren't even heard with Meav's softer and huskier tone....that acapella will never be the same without Hayley, nor will Scarborough fair, Lascia chio pianga...and her other songs XD

Excellent! Not for me, though, but I'm still glad there's a new CW release with Hayley on it! So, any newer CW fans can be sure to hear her, if they hadn't already.

I find it very odd that it's not listed on Amazon, though.

Haha, they list Susan as "The Susan" next to her song. Though, I consider it Lisa Kelly's song. Which is why I have no interest in the album for myself.

O my goodness I love Siobhan owen! Brilliant voice, I really like some of her traditional folk songs....this is my all time favourite!



and "Fields of St. Etienne" is amazing as well.

However, Caledonia, didn't work for me so much with her....needs more expression for my liking, Lisa was perfect, but after watching the live video of Susan, I'm convinced by her performance too, lovely texture to the group.

Yes, that was lovely, but I agree with Simba about Lisa. Also, Lisa's voice is lighter and has a warmth to it, that really just works for this song. Of course, hers was the first version I'd ever heard... the 2nd being by one of the guys from Celtic Thunder. Siobhan adds a an effect, a lilt, I think you'd call it, that sounds interesting, but gets to be tiring to hear after a while. It's fake, and I don't care for it.

Well, we are talking about a Welsh singer signing a Scottish song. I still think she does a decent job, although her recording of it on her album Storybook Journey is better sound quality than these live recordings. But those four tracks on A New Journey, Dulaman, Beyond the Sea, The Last Rose of Summer and Caledonia are the real heart of that album for me. Four stunning tracks.
