Sorry to take so long to get back to you comet. The crystal cathedral thread was an interesting read. Typed in the program name into ebay, and didn't find a copy of it. Just curious, what made you think of this performance? And I wonder how many of these rare one-off DVD's like crystal cathedral that are now out of print exist? All I know of is the northern Ireland Treasure concert DVD. For you guys who have copies, these are definite collector items. Alicia It was just that it was geographically one of the nearest Hayley performances to Carolina. I never saw a copy of the cd on E-bay, most of us got them directly from the Cathedral shop online.

LOL Yeah. And anyway, those performances, though more recent than the Crystal Cathedral (which no longer is being used by the Hour of Power) ones, was never available for sale. However, they were aired on American TV where people could record and keep if they wanted to. And, the Boston pops concert was available for purchase for a very short time.

Not sure what you mean Libby about not being available for sale I managed to get hold of a copy of the programme which featured Hayley through the UK branch of The Hour of Power. Their web site currently lists 2013/14 programmes on DVD that are available to purchase but sadly, not earlier ones. If anyone wants to try to find a copy, it is programme #1946. Other rare ones I have are the Northern Ireland DVD (withdrawn from sale), the Salisbury Cathedral concert (only available to purchase for those actually attending) and the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance featuring Hayley. Best wishes Grant

Yes, I have both of those too Grant. It is a great pity the NI one was withdrawn, I'm sure it would have interested lots of Hayley fans I managed to get a copy of the Salisbury Cathedral one too although I wasn't there. Didn't know the RBL one had ever been available as a DVD, I have a recording of Hayley's performance in the RAH.

I was referring to the Capitol 4th concerts. That's why I said that WA DC is closer to SC than the Crystal Cathedral in CA is.

I went to both nights. I recall reading somewhere that Hayley had a cold during this performance. If so, I wonder if it may have been a bit worse on the 19th, as she was far less chatty between songs than she was on the 18th. The joke she made about New Zealanders "taking over" Madison was not repeated the second night. Too bad, as I was considering "surrendering" if she did

The only hint of it for me during the first night was the first notes of Amalia, which sounded a tiny bit scratchy, which made me worry how she was going to do for the rest of the concert. However, every single note to follow was incredible. Her illness didn't show at all. But upon listening to the videos taken on the 19th, her voice sounds a bit more strained, less controlled, and her throat has a sound that indicates there's mucous accumulating. Sorry if that sounds gross, but it's true. I know that feeling, and it's very uncomfortable to sing like that. So, I commend Hayley for singing as well as she did while being sick.

Thanks Joe... Indeed, Hayley does not make it to the Midwestern States too often, so I couldn't pass up that golden opportunity. It was just a short 6 hour GreyHound ride . Both Hayley and the maestro said that it had been 10 years since she had sung there before. I had a pretty good seat as well- center stage in the first couple of rows behind the table seats. That was actually my first live Hayley concert. It was a real treat !

Actually, James, I'm not sure if Hayley has ever performed at the Orpheum Theatre, but she has performed with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, 10 years before this most recent concert. The orchestra don't normally play at that theatre. Concerts in the Square was what Hayley had done with them before, in July 2004. And, as for not making it to the Midwest too often, the same thing could be said of ALL the states... which may be why I felt the need to make a "short" 5 hour plane trip there! Otherwise, I could've waited forever to see her in Seattle.
