Wow...I'm running behind as usual. I will defnitely have to type up my detail report and pics tonight. Sorry for it! Just so you know, I've been buying picture frames and hanging stuff in my office. Thank you Nhat for the videos! You're a-mazing! Libby and Bill, Enjoyed reading your reports and pictures! We so have to have a HWI fest when she goes on tour here. Alicia Maybe we could just rent a big ol' bus and follow her around the country. Bill

I believe we have all had the experience where we try to start a conversation with someone about Hayley only to get a blank stare and a “Hayley Who?” in return. Susan had just the opposite experience yesterday. She had an appointment with our eye doctor and during the visit he asked her is she had done anything exciting recently. She told him that we had gone to Madison Wisconsin last week for a concert. He commented that it must have been to see someone very special to make the trip to Madison at this time of year. She told him we went to see Hayley Westenra. His mouth dropped open and he said, ‘I know about her, she’s the singer that made me cry.’ Apparently someone at his church played one of Hayley’s recordings for the congregation and before he knew it he was crying. He had no idea what was happening to him.
It is a rare artist, indeed, that can evoke that kind of emotion, especially with a recording alone. He said that if he had known she was performing in the US he would have tried to go. I have to think that this is not an isolated instance. There needs to be some way to communicate to a larger potential audience that the opportunity to attend a concert exists. Unless you lived in Madison or were tuned in to one of the forums or social media you would have had no idea that she was performing in the US. Obviously, those that knew of the concert were willing to travel great distances to attend. I guess that is something to ponder.
Merry Christmas to all and I hope you have a terrific New Year.
Bill

Thanks to all of you who went to the Madison concerts, it is wonderful to put faces to all those often cryptic screennames you all have, you all appear to be Earthlings, but one can't always identify a Halien by sight alone. lovely reports, love the eye doctor story, Libby, your Hayley event is not over yet, that's all I'm sayin'

Hi, Wow, did this forum ever get sparked back to life in December with the Cork and Madison concerts! Thanks to all for the many reports, pictures, and videos for each. The possibility of a tour of the US in connection with the new album turns the heat up a bit on that. BobS

Libby Alert. 2000 miles Can you make it?
The answer is YES SHE CAN and how.
Libby oh Libby it took me 3 attempts to read each of your excellent reports my eyes kept filling with tears of joy for you. (I'm just an old softy). I loved both of them and was delighted to hear that Hayley sought you out. The photos are great it is a shame about the selfie Hayley must have let the camera shake. Perhaps Hayley was nervous of meeting you. Bill(amptique) has a fine one of you and Hayley with Hayley camera in hand. I Hope to read more reports of Hayley concerts from you in the not to distant future. Jimg

Oh Libby I did enjoy reading about your first meeting with Hayley, I'm so glad it happened. Your photos are great too. But I can't take all the credit. Yes, I admit I sent Bill a PM letting him know that we had spoken to Hayley in Cork (not just me either, Comet spoke to her about you too) but it was quite evident that she already knew and, knowing Hayley, would do her best to see you. The fact she sent you a direct message on Twitter was a measure of her determination. I guess at the time she would not have know whether or not a meet and greet in the theatre would be possible. Sometimes theatre management won't allow it; sometimes it's not practical because of lack of space as was the case in Cork and I'm wondering know if "saying Hi! in the foyer" was something Hayley arranged because she hadn't had a reply to her DM. It is a fact though, Hayley has a way of making you feel special. I noticed it the very first time I met her way back and she's still the same today. In your case, we know Hayley follows the forum and would have known about the level of your support and the things you have done for her. She's always been very loyal to her fans, it makes her a very special person too. Have a great Christmas. Best wishes Grant I did send a few tweets her way about it, so it's likely that she did see them; also, she could have read the forum(s), and saw that I was going by reading our discussions, too. Maybe both. But thanks again, anyway, Grant and comet, silent as you may be. Oh, I look so thrilled in my pictures, don't I? I think I had been laughing, which is usually the best way for me to smile in pictures, but by the time he pressed the button, my laughter was fading. If I'm not laughing, I have a very hard time smiling nice enough for a picture. So that's why I look as thrilled as I do in Bill's shots. The "things you have done for her" sound great, but it's more like the things I have tried, not that any of those things has actually been successful. So, it sounds really nice, but when you think about it, I've actually accomplished very little. Keeping her forum going via twitter is one thing, I guess, since twitter is where we actually see the responses to our tweets/retweets. The official forum doesn't tell us how many people have viewed a thread, or anything like that. Also, keeping Hayley's name prominent on the Josh forum is another thing. I've gone months without getting a response from someone other than Taylor, but finally someone popped up and asked if Hayley had a Christmas album or not. Taylor gave her a far more detailed response than she probably expected. I told her she should just start with Winter Magic. Hayley's discography can be a bit daunting to the new fan. Oh, and thanks for the videos, Nhat! Now, maybe at last I can relive the concert! Maybe I'll listen on Christmas! I have church and a movie to keep me busy tonight. It's only the Hobbit!! #OneLastTime

It's the thought that counts Libby. The important thing is you have "tried" and who knows what seeds may have been sown for future reference It's all any of us can do and I'm sure Hayley will see it that way too. Best wishes Grant

Hello Bill Thanks so much for sharing more of your photos from Madison. I love the HWI group photo with Hayley. I, too, am a softie and cannot resist shedding a tear of joy, especially at this reflective time of year. Thanks also to Nhat...another gift for me to enjoy! Wow...what a Christmas to remember! Much appreciated, Joe

lovely reports, love the eye doctor story, Libby, your Hayley event is not over yet, that's all I'm sayin' I thought that was a great story, too. Any idea what song he heard played in church? Amazing Grace? Prayer? Abide With Me? Majesty, even? Okay, comet, that last statement has me going crazy, because it sounds like you know something I don't, but then maybe you're just being optimistic. Oh well, her tour can't be any earlier than 2016 if her album might just barely be out a year from now!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! It was nice to meet you all at the concert. I finally got around to cutting and uploading my video from the concert. The video isn't that good but the audio is what we care about here, right? ;P Here's an unlisted playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOnTQFHxHpbqKUqyUc1fHGdvDpd06Itn8Nhat Was this from the 18th or 19th? Just curious.

Thanks to everybody for the latest reports and videos! For me the highlight of 2014 was definitely Libby seeing and meeting Hayley for the first time, so now I'm waiting for the next chapter too. Happy New Year, Richard
