Hey, John H, I discovered new singers for you to like! I found the article in the link below by putting Hayley's name in Google news, and it led me to this. They list Hayley as one of their musical inspirations, as well as Jackie Evancho, who in turn, lists Hayley as hers! Appparently they're performing in Peterborough on October 17th. Can you make it, John? www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/what-s-on/music-going-out/twins-in-perfect-harmony-for-concert-date-in-peterborough-1-6288287Here's their youtube channel, with 2 videos (I can't post one of them here, so I figured I'd just lead you to both at once): www.youtube.com/channel/UCKsvhdmCLJI0rcljkMQZHdQ Bring Him Home is very lovely. Their Nella Fantasia is good, too, though some of the high notes were not quite effortless, compared to Chloe or Sarah Brightman. But actually they resemble Chloe, at least when she was a little younger. They're 19, but in some photos of them, they look younger than that. They look more their age in the actual video, though.

I was considering going, although it's not exactly close, until I realized I have already booked to see Blake with Camilla Kerslake that night They have a facebook page too, but I can't access the link at work. And a website www.classicalreflection.co.uk/

Hmm. interesting. They sound nice.
Of course Peterborough is my original home town, I can drive there in an hour. But the problem is the date, I have other commitments on that day. Pity.

Their website shows the concert as Sold Out. Gratifying to see this for a classical crossover act; they must have a lot of local support

I figured you might have already heard of them. You know about so many already, that I'm not really surprised you know of them, too!

'Bring Him Home' from Les Miserables is clearly based on the Humming Chorus from Puccini's Madama Butterfly. Listen to the similarity here: Richard

I can't believe it Richard, I have loved both of these pieces of music for over thirty years, Which means I have listened to them regularly.
I have Les Mis on the original circular stone tablets handed down from Heaven (LP).
I never before copped the similarity, It is amazing how different brains listen, process and compare pieces of music.
If I hear an instrumental version of a song I know well, I have extreme difficulty identifying it, I have to start singing the lyrics to myself until I get to some unique words or phrases or the title of the song.
If I hear a pop song from the 60s or 70s, I can tell pretty quickly if it is the original recording that was on the hit single or a re recording. (in general my preference is for the original recording, I think it has the triggers for the listeners to bring back memories)

Yes, it had never occurred to me either that those two are similar, even though I know both well. As soon as Richard mentioned it though, the penny dropped.
And I agree Paul, re-recordings of old songs often sound wrong to me. And I pretty much always prefer the orginals even when re-recordings or covers are technically superior. For example the Troggs "Love is all around" as against Wet Wet Wet's version.

Here's another interesting fact. Claude-Michel Schönberg wrote the music for Les Miserables and later for Miss Saigon, which is based on the same story as Madama Butterfly. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_SaigonRichard

Hello Paige! Classical Reflection are identical twins, as stated on their official Twitter page: twitter.com/classicaltwinsToday is Advent Sunday, so here's a clip of Naomi and Hannah singing "O Come O Come Emmanuel": No, I don't know which is which or who is who! Richard

Yes, I guessed so. They had to be identical twins. Like Camille and Kennerly (who are harpists).
