Yes, I know I've gone on about her before, but for me she is one of the finest singer-songwriters I ever heard. Someone who tragically died far too young. She has in fact been described as Britain's finest ever singer-songwriter. She didn't have Hayley's voice for sure, but she was my favourite female singer for about 30 years until I heard Hayley. And nobody, not even Hayley, can put emotion into a song the way Sandy did. Her songwriting too was brilliant. Decamp to YouTube and try things like here songs "Solo", "Bushes and Briars", "John the Gun" and her best known song "Who Knows where the Time Goes". Not to mention of course her brilliant work with folk band Fairport Convention. If you don't know her check her out, you won't be disappointed. And I think there is a lot Hayley could learn from her too.
