Regretfully they want you to sign in. Very anti sign-in sites these days. By the by, somewhere sometime Dave asked if we would try accessing the official site with our old details. I did--no success and neither did the password reminder work. Peter S.

Hi Rodders. Thank you for that illuminating information. Now we know why Steve Abbott was once heard calling her that. I think, however, we should respect it as a name for privileged use of those really close to her, or until she indicates otherwise. Peter S.

I did--no success and neither did the password reminder work. Peter S. Me too Peter, I never sign up to these sites. Grrr! But I might make an exception for Burnside Regarding the official forum problems, the last post I can find about it is Roger's here and as you will see, he did eventually get into the forum! If you are still interested in solving the problem, have a look at roger's post and the ones above it in that thread... they may give you some clues. And of course, please post any response to this in that thread Cheers, Dave

Your post 19 Dave. 1. Thanks for the nfo. 2. I had not replied to your earlier post about multiple posting so as not to add another one! But since this post is relevant I'll formally acknowledge your prompt as a courtesy

Absolutely right, Peter. Thank you for making that point. Roger But would any one of us wish to shorten a name as lovely as "Hayley" to anything less? Best wishes Grant

Absolutely right, Peter. Thank you for making that point. Roger But would any one of us wish to shorten a name as lovely as "Hayley" to anything less? Best wishes Grant OK Guy's lets put the record straight. The site that Burnside School and any other school, workplace, university, military services, service clubs e.g. Jaycee International,Rotary International, etc, etc, etc All of which have a space for you (the member) to include in your registration. The idea of this site is for old friends to keep in touch with each other. If Hayley didn't want that known then she wouldn't have put it there. Only you ( the member ) can include nicknames if you so wish. Oldfriends.co.nz is one of the most popular sites of it's type here in NZ. I am a member and I have a lot of contacts from around the world from old classmates I used to know, all thanks to this site. It costs nothing to join and it also includes members from overseas. As I attended school in the UK as well as NZ I have managed to contact friends from the UK likewise. So why not join up you never know who you will meet up with, Have fun cheers, Rodders

Absolutely right, Peter. Thank you for making that point. Roger But would any one of us wish to shorten a name as lovely as "Hayley" to anything less? Best wishes Grant I agree with you Grant. I think it derives from 'the trend at the time' rather than having any specific meaning. However, if it is a 'special' name for a few privileged close-knit friends I can understand why people might use it. It has been pointed out by someone somewhile back, when everyone calls her 'Hayley', like when she has a crowd of fans around her, the privilege of calling her 'Hayles' is helpful to stand out from the crowd to attract her attention reasonably inconspicuously. I have never liked abbreviations, regarding them as a hallmark of sloppy thinking and attitudes--although I accept the 'border country' where practicality over-rides niceties--but personal names ought not to be dehumanised in this way. However, there are those who consider the diminutive to be a compliment of friendship. There are people who are happy to be called 'Pete'. I detest it and won't answer. Peter S.

Hi Stephany, Sorry, you'll have to download that again. I had to redo some of my editing so I deleted the previous file & uploaded the correct one. I somehow left off the very amusing ending of the audio where the interviewer scored a very Hayley "NO" when he tried to stir her up about the Allblacks possible defeat by the Irish Team. He also had her laughing deliciously as they parted as he actually managed the last word. Beautiful. Graeme
