Gerard posted this in the Dublin Concert Hall thread. And finally finally, Hayley was interviewed on The Tubridy Show on Radio 1 the previous Tuesday - probably nothing new to you regulars, but she sounded so relaxed and happy and I could listen to that accent all day. ...and I just find the link of the radio interview, it is on the RTÉ Radio 1 website : Hayley Westenra interview on "The Tubridy Show". Scroll down to Tuesday 12th June and there is a link to the audio file. Hayley's interview starts at 2:43 and she performs Scarborough Fair and Pokarekare Ana. Thanks for the heads up, Gerard! It's a very good interview...Hayley is very relaxed and the interviewer asks good questions. I didn't get Hayley's nickname at school though...anyone can help me? I'm not sure but I believe she stopped briefly her singing during "Pokarekare Ana" to cough... I love the end of the interview when they talk about the Rugby World Cup...PRICELESS! Stephany

I didn't get Hayley's nickname at school though...anyone can help me? Hi Gerard and Stephany, Many thanks for finding this interview. Apparently, because she was quite short during her schooldays, she was known as "Little Squirt"! Ahh! Sorry Hayley, I'm not really laughing.... Roger

Great find Stephany and Gerard. I noticed Hayley clearing her throat early on in Pokarekare Ana and she did apologise "for being a bit croaky" as she returned to the interview. But then she had been talking for some 15 minutes before she got up to sing. I agree though, it was a great interview. Did you pick up her reference to a "baby dog" though? Hello Hayley, they're called puppies!! Best wishes Grant

Thanks Chris! "Squirt" does sound better and it sounds like an affectuous word, with no intention to hurt the person! I particularly love the end of the interview when the guy says he's looking forward to seeing Ireland beat the All Blacks in due course.

With apologies to Steve MacDonald, who has seen this before, I once wrote a limerick about Hayley's size at the time I first saw her. A long long time ago on a website far away, we used to do a lot of this....it needs to be said that Steve is much more gifted at this sort of thing than !.....
I am normally not one to gripe As I sit at my keyboard and type But Hayley's not tall And her frame is so small Her pajamas have only one stripe!
So Pavorotti said to her with alarm You could have plently of charm But you really should try To eat some more pie I could fit one of you in each arm!

Hi Folks. Squirt is a name we would use. The "Little" is unnecessary. Not an insult but a term of affection or endearment to a child or smaller or lighter person. Like you might call a big bloke Tiny Tim or Curly to a person with straight hair.

Hi everybody, I just tested the link with Opera 9.10 and Firefox 2.0.0.4 under windows XP - it works. The file playes with Real Player. Perhaps a plug-in is necessary... Good luck, Karsten
