Dancing with the Stars, spring 2014 season

I (or Jillian) will be posting Meryl's & Charlie's dances from DWTS here in this thread. Here are their first performances from last week:

I read somewhere that Charlie and Sharna did the lift from Scheherazade? I can't recognise it, but that might be the difference between it being on the floor and not on skates!



P.S This is one of my favourite Charlie and Meryl moves. From Notre Dame. I can't figure out how Meryl's knees aren't bleeding after that?? Or does she have her knees slightly above the ice?

Which lift? There only about 5 lifts per free dance.

Meryl & Charlie were safe this week, and their new dances have them tied so far! Meryl did swing, and Charlie did tango. Thankfully, they're switching partners. I can't stand the way Max is with is partners in between dances. It verges on sexual harassment. He does it every season, and I find it a bit disgusting. I can't find anything on the internet about who is partnering who now... so I guess we'll see soon enough!





I like Meryl's the best! Totally going for Meryl! Look how fit she is... wow. I was at the gym tonight and I decided to visualise 'what would Meryl do' LOL. Certainly she wouldn't be slacking off on the push ups!! My trainer actually commented that it was one of the best sessions I've done, so thanks Queen Meryl! ha ha ha ha

I REALLY hope they have Charlie and Meryl dance together at some point. I would really like to see that. I bet they do.

Yes, but since the show is dancing with the stars, I doubt it would be in the actual competition part.

I thought Charlie's face was funny when he was trying to be "mean". LOL

I was thinking more like a dance for a special 'awww' moment -- but not related to the actual points bit. If both Meryl and Charlie make it to the final, I think that there will be a dance planned between them.

Meryl got the highest score this week, but all the scores were extra high, because there was an extra judge.

Meryl & Max danced a beautiful foxtrot to "All of Me", originally by John Legend, and with Lindsey Stirling playing live! I have to say I really enjoy that song, and have finally discovered why Hayley likes John Legend:

Hi Libby. I've been watching this season too, and I love that song as well. Perhaps the best and most emotive song on pop-radio today.
Being more fond of the intense, technical dances myself, I really liked Danica this week

That describes Meryl & Charlie's tango from 2010/2011, which won them their first world title. It can be found in the figure skating thread here on the off-topic board, if that interests you. I agree, I love the intense ballroom dancing, too. I love dancing and skating because I just love watching the performers interpret emotions of music, it makes me enjoy the music that much more. There are some songs I can't seem to bring myself to listen to without watching the skating/dancing that drew me to the song to begin with.

Here are this week's dances, with different partners (I liked Meryl's new partner much better, though he's her main partner's brother! But he doesn't kiss her half as much, so I liked him much better.





How do you like Charlie's hair? And I kind of agree, it wasn't a proper rumba, too contemporary, as the one judge said. But it was still nice. Meryl again got a 39 out of 40 (I think someone else did, too, but I rarely pay attention to anyone else's score).

Unfortunately all the previous videos I posted say they've been removed by the user, so if you're interested and haven't seen them yet, you'll have to find them yourself. LOL, sorry.

Speaking of being interested, is Jillian still there? I feel I'm talking to myself these days, and I'm dying to show you some more ice dancing, too.

It's funny, I thought I would prefer Charlie on DWTS, but I'm actually loving Meryl so much more!

Yes, and it seems as though the same is true with other fans, as well. They said that Meryl was the most requested star for this week, like I guess people were clamoring to see her the most. No wonder. Normally, I find the dances on this show to be very slow and boring, compared to the much more difficult routines on So You Think You Can Dance. But Meryl's routines seem to be more difficult than some others, because obviously she's much more skilled than many other contestants. It must be a breath of fresh air for the pro dancers to be able to dance with someone like her.

Right, on to the skating, make sure you come watch. You're going to like them, I know it. Hint: You've seen their faces on my FB page.
