That would've been a lovely dress for the wedding! Can't wait for those photos!

I think the fact that Woman's Day have a deal with the Westenras, and claim to be publishing the story in the next issue of their magazine is pretty good evidence that it did happen, plus the "undisclosed guest". I don't see why Gerald would say she didn't get married if she did, though. Two against one, or one who should know better than anybody else against several uncertain media sources? LOL Leading up to this last weekend, I had a strong feeling that that weekend was a strong possibility for her wedding. It's around Christmas time like the previous articles said, but after Christmas, and closer to what would have been their 2 year engagement anniversary. So, my hunch was right! Or, was it? Oh, these articles have their facts all wrong! One of the articles says that they got engaged in early 2013! But it was in fact early 2012! The same article, plus a couple others, say that they've been together for only 3 years, when we all know it's coming up on 5!! Yeah, I wouldn't trust these people, they know less than all of us about this stuff.

So much for that idea. Thanks, Martin, for sharing the oh-so-confusing news on the forum for me. That's the price of living at least 8 hours behind everyone else.

I will hold back the congratulations until we know they are due. Must admit I'll be a little sad if the story is true as I'd hoped that Hayley wouldn't go down the whole 'celebrity' route of tying to one of the magazines but if that's what they chose.

Two things. 1. Were there a "mess up" you can be sure Hayley will turn it to a positive advantage. 2. The "hang up" could be deliberate news furore as advance publicity for the magazine if it is due out Monday! Publicity is publicity.

That's a bit harsh Keith. I hardly think having your wedding pictures carried by Women's Day is going down the celebrity route. It is, after all, a local women's weekly magazine and, to be fair, they have been loyal to Hayley for a long time. I have 10 copies myself! Cheers Grant

And there aren't that many internationally famous celebrities from New Zealand. Richard

LOL, Taylor. But not me. Yeah, Keith, that's a bit extreme. If you are a celebrity, then there's not much chance your wedding, or anything else major in your life, is going to go totally unnoticed by the media. A female celebrity like Hayley, especially a sensible, smart one like Hayley, knows that her fans, especially her female ones, will want to read about her wedding and see all the gorgeous photos. I am completely unashamed to say that I am one of those fans. I think it's pretty good that she (probably) managed to have the whole wedding before anything was actually leaked to the media. They all probably realized that it would leak eventually, but better after the fact then before, right? So, I think they did very well in keeping it "secret" beforehand. There have been other celebrities, most memorably Drew Barrymore, who managed to pull off a wedding without the media finding out till afterwards. Since her engagement was leaked, they had to know her wedding would be leaked eventually, too. So, if everyone's going to know eventually anyway, why not make the news of it be told in a magazine that will present you in a beautiful, glamorous way on your special day? That's perfectly reasonable to me. As I've said before: if you don't want to be treated like a celebrity, then don't be one.

Here's a slightly different article about the wedding event that occured on December 29, from MSN NZ. It mentions the Hushabye CD.

Well, my vote says it has happened. It is the right time as Libby mentioned. And the press coverage means we will get photos and reports to enjoy, so I don't mind that much. The smokescreen that appears to be being put up is annoying, we just want to know the truth and wish those two lovely young people a happy life together. Somebody is lying somewhere, or at least -.fudging the truth, you take your choice about who, but that we will eventually know is for sure. Except that Gerald "refused to confirm" does not mean it didn't happen or that he is a liar. But this confusion cheapens the whole thing, when all we want is to celebrate the marriage of two lovely young people who we love and admire.

P.S.: Too bad I wasn't the 'Paige' who was one of the bridesmaids! I did think of you when I read the bridesmaid's name Thanks Joe! And Martin, too! I think I'd expire on the spot if I met Hayley face-to-face let alone receive a wedding invitation

Well Paige, I have had the pleasure of meeting Hayley face to face a number of times and am still alive. She is a lovely normal person, not a goddess. She is very grounded. It is only her talent that is extraordinary.
Oh, and "refused to confirm" which is the quote I had from Gerald, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
