Hi Joe, No I cannot see any of those buttons. Or my name, so I can't click on it. Not sure how to change the forum theme, can't see any way to do that either. The only button I have is "Participated" which doesn't seem very helpful. Martin D Very odd ... simply paste this into your browser, it is your profile link. hwi.proboards.com/user/128

Hi Richard, Might you have a trick that would work for my problem? With the new program, the word "Enchantress" under my avatar is no longer centered under the picture. That disturbs my sense of equilibrium! No matter what I try, the word just gets left-justified. I've tried spacing before it, and . . . Enchantress . . ., and x x x Enchantress x x x, none of which worked. I note that there is a centering symbol for posting, but I don't think that it applies to this. The avatar itself is much improved now. Someone once PM'd me that I was doing an injustice to Hayley with it, yet the person had commented favorably on it when Steve Hayter first posted it. Smiling Hayleys are a dime a dozen. This "deep in thought" picture is priceless, unique. Here's hoping you have a trick. BobS Hi Bob, i don't mean to speak for Richard, but I'll see if there is a fix from ProBoards Support. Also I hope to add locations too. Hi Bob! Good news! I was able to add locations and center our personal text. For my reference it was done through this link support.proboards.com/post/5015826 and the personal text centered was done through Advances Styles & CSS / Objects / Mini-Profiles / Personal Text / Text Align=center

Hi Joe,
Thanks, that seems to have improved things a lot. Edited a few things in my profile, and now I seem to have the usual set of buttons at the top. No idea why I didn't have them before. Can't say I see any improvement over the old version, but at least now I seem to be able to do the same things as before. Thanks for your help.

So, the text box is much better. And yes, the quick reply box is great, but not if you want to quote somebody. I haven't yet, though, so that's not a problem, but that's the reason you need to go to the reply page. Also, there are no smilies or font buttons, or anything else, in the quick reply. I know most of the smilies codes from before, but not so sure how they'll all turn out nowadays. I'll try some now: I found that the only way to get to the last post of a topic is only if you first click on a sub-board page (Hayley in concert, media, etc.). Then once you're there, you can click on the time span of the most recent post in a topic. For example, it might say, "Richard posted 20 hours ago, or something). The green 20 hours ago is clickable there. But from the main forum page, the 20 hours is not clickable at all. And no matter where you click from the main forum page, it only goes to the first page of a topic. No matter which way you do it, there seems to be a lot more clicking required. I still don't like the font of the most recent posts via the front page, either. Before, I went by whether it said "Today" (yellow) or "Yesterday" (magenta) at the top, and these each had a certain color. This made it MUCH easier to tell if a recent post had been made on the forum at all that day. Now, I have to look at the date below. None of the font stands out very well anywhere. Titles of posts need to be darker, more bold. Well, I guess the "20 hours ago" thing helps, but it's all the same color, green. So, you still have to read it more closely than before. I never went by the last 50 posts. Why would I, there are never 50 posts in one day. Plus, it was way at the bottom. Apparently the new thing is at the bottom now, too. I always went by the Today or Yesterday. If I didn't see anything in yellow or magenta via the front page, I could easily tell no new posts had been made that day. Now, not so easy. I can only see the Profile, Login, Search, etc. buttons at the top before I log in. After I log in, they disappear. I will try changing my settings to see if I can get them to stay after I log in.

Okay, I changed my theme from "Default" to "theme 2", and now I see everything, even when logged in. Also, I notice that the forum is defaulting to my last post after I post, so I can read my post once it's posted. LOL That was a lot of posting. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Libby, we will take a look at modifying the font of post titles. The colors of the "today" etc was a special HTML code we put in that the new software cannot replicate. You can click on " Hot Topics" on our custom button bar...this will bring up all of the threads with new posts..simply click near the space near " by (member), (time / date of post)". This works for any list of threads. On the home screen, clicking a board description box will always bring up the first page of threads. Clicking on the last post of a board on the home screen will give you that last post. Some browsers seem to prefer the theme "Theme 2"... Try that using the steps I gave to Martin D, several posts above.

On the home screen, clicking a board description box will always bring up the first page of threads. Clicking on the last post of a board on the home screen will give you that last post. Pretty sure it doesn't, but I'll try it again. Though I'm not quite sure what you mean by board description box. Anyway, as I said, nothing you click on from the front page goes to a last post of anything. It will only go the first post of a thread, or you have to get there via the sub-board link.

Okay, I think I know what you mean now, Joe, but that only works if there aren't locked threads at the top. Then, you still have to search a bit.

Hi Libby, Just so I understand, which sub-board link were you referring to? If you refer to the front page they are just board links. Sub-boards would be, for example, each album, under the Albums board. Joe

Hi Joe and Everyone Sounds like you've had a pretty busy time on here whilst I've been away! Was a bit strange coming back to a "new" forum after being away for a few days - especially as I had around 100 posts to go through without the "last 50" to help me. Did find my way eventually - a bit long winded when there are lots of posts as it appears it is now necessary to go back page by page although once we're used to it, remembering there are 15 posts per page will help I suppose. Having read many posts about problems members are experiencing, I found I also needed to change settings to "theme 2" which seems to work with the Google Chrome browser I'm using. I assume we can no longer stay logged in forever with this upgrade There are also one or two other bits and bobs I'm not sure about but I'll keep them to myself for now unless I start having problems. Thanks Joe and all staff members for keeping us going through what must be a difficult time Best wishes Grant
