Just to add to Joe's reply, when viewing the posts inside a thread, individual posts can be Quoted but not Replied to - the Reply button is for the thread and is therefore after the last post on a page. Perhaps it is to encourage Quoting? When viewing "Recent Posts" any post can be Quoted directly (as I am doing now) but there is no Reply option. In both cases, I suppose you could Quote and then delete the quote before hitting Create Post.

Hi Richard,
Might you have a trick that would work for my problem?
With the new program, the word "Enchantress" under my avatar is no longer centered under the picture. That disturbs my sense of equilibrium! No matter what I try, the word just gets left-justified. I've tried spacing before it, and . . . Enchantress . . ., and x x x Enchantress x x x, none of which worked. I note that there is a centering symbol for posting, but I don't think that it applies to this.
The avatar itself is much improved now. Someone once PM'd me that I was doing an injustice to Hayley with it, yet the person had commented favorably on it when Steve Hayter first posted it. Smiling Hayleys are a dime a dozen. This "in conversation" picture is priceless, unique.
Here's hoping you have a trick.

Thanks for the great comments...they are much appreciated!

The location feature was eliminated by ProBoards in this new software version.  As you said, clicking on the member's name will bring up his/her location.

If you click on the Profile button below the banner, your profile comes up but the 3-box welcome table partially disappears.  Are all of you seeing this?

That is good news that you have posted.
I think that there may be a minor bug or two in the "On Line" info at the bottom of the HWI Forum home page.
1) I saw your name as being on line. It disappeared from there, but never went into the past users line below.
2) I logged off once, but remained on line. The banner line showed me correctly as logged off (Log In showed), but it was quite awhile before I disappeared from the Users On Line. To me, those are no problem, just that they don't seem to be working correctly yet.

I'm sorry, this upgrade is still a total disaster as far as I am concerned. Can we have the old site back please, it was so much better. It was much easier to identify new posts, now it seems I have to search for them.
"Profile button" still non-existent. "Messages" no sign of them. Visual appearance of the site - far inferior. There is absolutely nothing good about this upgrade (or downgrade I should say), and I can't do half the stuff I used to do. I have tried two different browsers to no avail. This is really too much, since I have problems locking me out of Hayleyonline too. Only the official forum is left, and they once locked me out for 2 years.
So where do I go? I really can't be doing with this hassle. I have lost most of what I admired about the HWI site, and am very unhappy with it.

Basically, the software is very clearly not properly tested. So we are stuffed. Can we move away from proboards. There must be something better somewhere. It could hardly be much worse.

I would vote for reversal of the downgrade if I could. But I suppose things get worse, it is the way of the world. After all, who would choose Windows 8 over Windows 7 or even XP?

Hi Bob,

1) Could be because I am on two devices (my PC and ipad).  I think the names will not appear in both Users Online and Users online in the Last 24 Hours.

2) Likely a Proboards server issue...not sure how long it recycles info.

Hi Martin D,

Sorry for the continued issues you are seeing.  ProBoards forced all their forums into upgrading.  We decided to put off the upgrade till a few days before an auto-upgrade on January 1.

You cannot see any buttons labelled Home, Search, Profile, Messages? Did you try changing the forum theme as I recommended yesterday? If you cannot see your Profile button, click your name, then click Edit Profile on the right side, then click the Settings Tab. Scroll down and you will see an option to change themes. Try either to see what will make your button bar appear.

New posts can be identified by going to foot of the home screen and click "Recent Posts" above the Users Online.

Hi Joe,

No I cannot see any of those buttons. Or my name, so I can't click on it. Not sure how to change the forum theme, can't see any way to do that either. The only button I have is "Participated" which doesn't seem very helpful.
