Hi Libby, If my memory serves me right, Hayley came to Hong Kong in 2005 to promote Odyssey. While she didn't sing in a concert like she will next week, she did have a mini-performance or two in a shopping mall for lucky passers-by. Tin Thanks, Tin. Hello Tin and Libby, It seems likely that Hayley also sung in Hong Kong way back in December 2002, or at least that was the plan. In an email to HWI from Mercury TV on 1st Dec 2002, they said: But of course, that too could in reality have been a promotional appearance ahead of her then forthcoming album Pure. I can't find any subsequent confirmation that the plan did in fact materialise so I guess we'll have to ask Hayley sometime! There is an interesting set list for Hayley's Invercargill concert in that 2002 email, too. Cheers, Dave

Hi Richard and all... If Hayley's popularity in the Far East continues or even increases, I wonder if we could one day find ourselves in the unusual situation where a 'UK' singer becomes famous here, fades somewhat in record sales and TV appearances, is rekindled in the Far East, releases more CDs there and in turn is re-rekindled back in the UK (and elsewhere) because of that? Wishful thinking? Maybe, but it would certainly be an interesting and possibly novel kind of re-invention! Cheers, Dave

Err.. Dave I think you have to be good to achieve that. Hayley is an amazing singer with a talent for languages. We don't properly appreciate her here in this country where nasal whining in the back of the throat with a range of about half an octave and dodgy pitch control is considered to be good singing, as long as there is plenty of screaming "emotion". Hayley will always be appreciated where there are people who understand great voices and great singing. Looking at the X Factor and other such shows, I don't think the majority in this country have any understanding of music whatsoever. It's whoever has the cutest image or the best sob story.

Hi Libby and Martin! I can see the ambiguity! So to clarify... what about: No 'err.' That works? Cheers, Dave

Hi all - On the site below, under archival date of 2013-11-29, I am expecting to hear Hayley being interviewed, when they get the program loaded. It is a 4-hour program, so I shall scout the exact time for you. In the meantime, at the site below, the conductor of the music for Hayley in Hong Kong (Colin Touchin) is being interviewed under archival date of 2013-11-28. Under - Other Episodes -, click on - Listen -, then on that page under - Please select seg -, select - Part 4 (HKT 12:05-12:59). When the timer bar appears, slide the timer to 08:44. It may take a few seconds to buffer. Some very nice things are said about Hayley. programme.rthk.hk/channel/radio/programme.php?name=radio3%2Fmorning_brew&p=2505BobS

Looks like she's spending a lot of time on the water these days. In the 2nd to last photo, I recognize the white top as the same one from her twitter pic. Must have been taken the same day!
