Yes, as I've said before, it really is all about promotion. Even the most appalling rubbish can sell if it is hyped enough. If people are told it is good, they will buy it. We see it all the time. So, why don't Hayley's albums get promoted? That is the problem. Changing record label didn't help Katherine Jenkins. I'm not convinced it would help Hayley either. Especially an American label, it seems that most Americans are resistant to foreign artists, however good they are. A lot of money can be spent, and lost, trying to crack America if you are not American. We have seen it time and time again. But it isn't like that in the UK, at least not to the same extent. So the right promotion, TV ads etc could have helped sell Hushabye. And as Dave pointed out, it needs to be available in all major supermarkets. When I looked at ASDA's top ten albums on Friday, 8 of the ten were compilations of old pop songs, only two were new music. I think if we took the compilations out, perhaps Hushabye didn't do too badly. We should be bold. The promotion should be bold. Don't mince words. Tell TV viewers that Hayley has the finest voice on the planet. Tell them that they have never heard a voice like Hayley's. Tell them that she is something timeless. Tell them she is simply the finest singer they have ever heard. Do it. Don't be modest. Hype sells.

It says a lot about the popularity of "Hushabye" (or lack of it) that a thread has already been started for Hayley's next album, only a few short weeks since the last one was released. Personally I hope we get back to what made "Pure" and "Treasure" so good: great melodies and great orchestral arrangements. I always think strings add so much to a song. As a former violinist (long since lapsed !) I would say that of course ! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

On the other hand, I always love to hear Hayley sing unaccompanied. Here is a question for you. Which album has Hayley's only completely a capella recording? And which song?

Not the one I was thinking of. Although you may be right. She is accompanied by a choir at least there. The one I'm thinking of is Hayley and Hayley alone. But think of the amoeba and the Incredible String Band. If you don't get that Comet, I'll be disappointed.

Jillian, that wasn't what we were talking about, I was merely talking about the success it'd be when people said Hushabye wouldn't do much to her success/career. And that success of the album is not just based on how good it is, but also how well it's promoted. If modest sales are okay and we're just talking about how good the album is going to be, then I'm sure it'll be stunning, while I thought Hushabye was too. Simba, stop dictating to us what we can talk about and what we can't. As far as I can tell, you said pretty much the same thing she just said. I'm getting really fed up with the unpleasant way you discuss everything. I'm not the only one, either.

Well done Taylor, you are correct! Her voice sounds so different on that song, you probably don't realise at first that she does the whole thing unaccompanied (except by herself). Martin D

Time well spent if you ask me. Perhaps only listening to Hayley (live) is better.

Anyone could tell that my post was only explaining the context of my comment and not dictating someone else. And no I was not saying the same thing as her, she misinterpreted it so I cleared it up by explaining my intent. So what part of this is a problem for you or anyone, I fail to realize. There's nothing personal about any of this. Try to understand, don't judge me please.

Don't judge you! Oh wow. You go around nitpicking everybody for what they say in their posts, and I'm not supposed to judge you? Oh, and I'm not in a a position to understand what you said!? Well, that's for sure!! Because you're posts are very difficult to understand at times, and I realize it's the language barrier, but so should you. If we don't quite understand what you say, it's not entirely our fault. It's just the way you word everything that makes you unpleasant to talk to. First, you said "Jillian, you're missing the point, blah, blah, blah". There, that's a personal criticism that gets on people's nerves. And then in the next post you say "Jillian that's not what we were talking about... I was talking about...blah, blah" So, who was "we"? You and Jillian, or you and everybody else? Who are you to imply that someone can't talk about something just because it wasn't what you yourself meant? Jillian's comment was completely relevant to the entire discussion in this thread thus far, as far as I can tell. She can say whatever she wants, if she has a point to make, and it was a completely valid point. I don't care if it wasn't exactly what you said, but that isn't the point. The point is you're not being very nice. If you don't want to be "judged", try to be a little nicer in your comments, if you don't mind. If you say things in a way that doesn't sound nice to me, I'm going to say something about it. I can't speak for everybody else, but there's at least one other person I know for sure does not enjoy reading your posts, either, and I can't imagine that anyone else whom you've nitpicked enjoys it, either. They're not saying anything either because I say something first, or maybe they don't want to cause trouble, but that's silly, because you're the one causing the trouble. I'm not afraid to tell someone when they're not being nice. Maybe it's not my business to complain about your conversations to others, but I was involved in the same discussion, and I didn't like the way you "spoke" to her. Also, I am a moderator, and if you were on the official forum being persnickety about everything, it would not be appreciated or tolerated. Just try to discuss things in a more friendly manner. Even if you don't agree about something, there's always a way to say your piece in a civil manner. If you try this, you won't find yourself being judged.

Let's keep this discussion moving forward on Hayley's next album, please. The only person round here who should be raising their voice is Hayley
