Thanks for the full set list, Dave!  I've made a small correction to No.18 in your list. It should be "The Mummers' Dance" (plural), but a lot of people make that mistake, including whoever printed the list.  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mummers%27_DanceIt was definitely Hayley's longest ever concert. My goodness, Martin, so Hayley didn't leave until around 12.15am? That was obviously some reception afterwards for the band, management (both Brian Lane and Valerie from Bandana were present), the concert organisers Schoneberg, Union Chapel staff, friends and family. But well earned. I think that the venue in itself was a major factor in the success of the evening because it allows the artist to be relaxed and immediately create a bond with the audience. I hope too that it can be repeated in the future but whether it is economically viable on a frequent basis is unknown. Martindn. Thanks for the video of "WYNK". That is Beautiful it captures the atmosphere perfectly. Looking forward to seeing more.
There was at least one other person making videos so we may get to see "You Raise Me Up" from them.
Right from the start there seemed to be a special "feel" to the night.

Great Concert.  That's the shortest concert review I have ever written Otherwise it was a bit of a Murphy's Law weekend for me. Missing flights, pay again. Thanks a bunch Aer Lingus you are now in my SPAM list and RyanAir can have your shares if they make me a decent offer. But what's worse is I may have positioned myself to close to the left hand speakers and piano at the concert.. Got back to Dublin with the rain bouncing off the tarmac and paid for a bus ticket for a bus that never turned up. Makes you realise how great London Transport is. But as Charlie Chaplin says SMILE. I have a little good news for some, give me a little time to get myself back together.. |

More super reviews thank you After Jonathan sang Gethsemane Hayley came back onstage and said : "wasn't that amazing". And it was.. I did notice the girls on violin, cello and bass thingy seemed to be quite moved and awed by Jonathan's performance and Tim Evans was like a meercat peeping over his music stand to watch the performance it really was something else. He can give the BeeGees a run for their money on the high notes..and sustain. I would love Hayley to sing I don't know how to love him from Jesus Christ Superstar considering what she did with Majesty. I listen to Jesus Christ Superstar about once a year around Easter and have done so since around 1973, Either the London cast recording (The Yellow /purple one) or the original film soundtrack one or the VHS video  Love it.. |

I have to say, 'WYNK' was never a big favourite of mine. But, that performance was awesome. It just shows the power a live recording can have on you.
What are the odds of a few Christmas concerts from Hayley this year?

Hi Martin, Well we could lower the boomy bits (and bass) if you like, the best way to see if you think it will help is to listen to an example, so I've done one. The main problem seems to be when more of the band comes in, after a while. Anyway, let me know (I could cut more of the bass, or add a bit back if this is too much). WYNK audio (bassyness reduced from Youtube version)If you want me to do something with this, it might be better if I could get hold of the original audio (pre-Youtube upload). Once you have enjoyed Hayley's performance a couple or three times it is well worth watching base guitarist Beth ("I don't know your surname") she really looks to be enjoying herself. |

But the monopod helps a lot too. I noticed that using that there is no vertical shake, but I still get horizontal movement which the YT edit feature can remove provided it is not too bad. Mind you, I have one video that might be a challenge, since I had a coughing fit in the middle of it. It is the most difficult one I have, so I might tackle that one tomorrow.
