Well if it's 60s "Dream a Little Dream" will be the Mama Cass version!
But that as an album title would break the one word title tradition for Hayley's international albums.
How about "Dreamer"? Hayley's twitter profile used to say that she was a dreamer. Or Dreaming. Or something like that. Mind you if she wanted the album title to be the same as one of the songs on it, she would probably have to write a new song called "Dreamer". I can't imagine her singing the Supertramp hit from the 70s.
And Grant, yes you could be right. If I remember correctly, the title of HSJS was changed after some negative comments about "Hayley Meets Japanese Songs".
Could be that the baby idea might be related to the coming media blitz when a certain baby arrives in July. Might be thought to be a good bandwagon to jump on.
Just a few random speculations.

Ha ha ha Well, I posted the photo on their facebook page as I figured they might like to see it - they're a very new store from what I've read, so getting one of their dresses in Hayley's album shoot must be quite exciting for them.

That pic can be very well used for the Album cover. I actually like it a lot for a cover, very attractive. BTW that's something I did in Photoshop (just so nobody is mislead ) WOW Simba -- I really like your work there! Now that you've done that, I could imagine it as the album cover! Great work! Hushabye is a cool song - I wonder if it could be on the album? Hushabye - The Mystics (Live) www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5R_WXsRZ5AI think Hayley would sound great singing this. Quite retro too, as I think The Mystics first sang this in the fifties. It was also covered by the Beach Boys. I'm getting quite excited about this new album. It's all beginning to look really cool.

Okay, this is getting extremely confusing. We've now seen 3 different titles, and now at least 3 different dates! Play.com says June 3rd? My mind is spinning. I definitely vote for Dream a Little Dream. Lullaby would be fine, too. Hushabye to me seems even more babyish than Lullabies does. I wasn't alive in the '60s, so I don't really notice any particular era when I see that photo. And, that dress is labeled as a 50's dress, so I'm really not sure where you're getting 60's from. The hairstyle? No, it looks kind of normal, to me. Also, I wouldn't be too sure about an album with only songs from the '60s. That would seem to eliminate any possibility of any original material, and it would make it just as specialized as an actual lullabies album would have been. Oldies' songs don't appeal to everybody. I would certainly hope she put her own "Hayley" spin to it, but I still have my doubts about a 60's-themed album. I'm not keen on any theme except a Hayley theme! LOL Simba, your artwork has cut off part of Hayley's arm and part of the dress, so she looks more off-centered, and I don't think sideways titles look good. I think it's best to have the words straight across, so they're that much easier to read, on first glance. I think the use of this photo on the front would also depend on the theme of the whole album. She might be smiling in other shots for the album, too. I wonder if that dress is the only one used like the pink dress was for Paradiso. She wore different outfits inside Treasure, Odysssey, & Pure, so I'm not ruling out the possibility of more outfits. Oh, and Winter Magic, too!

Nice attempt Simba, although as Libby says, Hayley is a bit off center and her and anf the top of her head is cut off. But it looks good for sure. Libby, I doubt the album will be exclusively from any particular era. Most of her albums include songs from different periods. It was only in respect of "Dream a little Dream" that I was thinking 60s. It could just as well be called "Dream" (1950s Every Bothers hit), or I quite like "Beautiful Dreamer" which I think is 19th century. Or "Beautiful Dreams" might be nice. There are lots of permustions you could play on that theme and the album title doesn't have to be a song title anyway. There are no songs called "Pure" "Odyddey", "Treasure" or "Paradiso" after all.

Thanks Jillian! And Libby there's no rule saying parts of the picture for an album cover shouldn't be cut off and that the picture should be centered. The hand was purposely cut off to balance the text on the right. I don't know, I'm just saying it won't be a surprise if this was used as an album cover. On a side note, sideways text mostly arouse interest because people would want to read what's written, and might possibly take it in their hand to just rotate and read maybe XD
But you know looking straight into the camera pics would work best for an album titled "Hayley Westenra" But there was already one like that.

The photo we are discussing, too much make up.. always a yuck factor for me. Hayley has no need for make up to that extent. I agree with the part of Hayley not really needing makeup, but, honestly, she's really not wearing too much. A little more mascara than usual, but that's basically it. Maybe some light eye shadow, light-coloured gloss. Pretty tasteful, actually. And she's using even less than in the Harper shoot. And, if you need to feel better about it, just go look up a picture of Lady GaGa.

Whether it's going to be this photo or not, the makeup is going to be the same for the cover pic, because this was indeed the cover photoshoot, and I love it XD It brings out her eyes boldly Really works for a straight into camera look.

I think it's a bit more tasteful than the purplish lips she had on the Paradiso shoot, which never really made sense to me -Rory

Just an observation, when cds are sold in a shop from a rack. It is better if the title or the artists name is across the top edge, Clearly printed, legible. This is often the only part visible in some of the racks as the cd in the section below overlaps it. Consider albums that had silly covers, The White Album ... nothing on the cover, just looks like a separator or a spacer in the rack. Albums with no title or artist name. sometimes it works, Dark Side of the Moon's prism has become somewhat iconic for instance. But sometimes it just causes a marketing flop. A good photo of the artists face is always going to work, eyes straight into the viewers eyes helps. The photo we are discussing, too much make up.. always a yuck factor for me. Hayley has no need for make up to that extent. Exactly, comet! This is kind of what I was thinking of! Even if it was in the front with nothing to conceal any of it, you still want people to be able to read it well without being required to pick it up. Yes, we want people to pick it up. However, people are more likely to pick it up if they see something that catches their eye. Sure, the photo alone should do the job. But, once people look at the picture, they might look for the title, and it's just much better if the title is easy to read immediately on first glance. So Simba, of course there's no "rule" about any of what I've said. It's all about marketing. In order to sell something by visual impact, you want everything to look as good and professional as possible, and you also don't want to make people work any harder than necessary to figure out what the product is. An off-center photo is going to look a little sloppy, to me. That's just my opinion. I also have to agree that the eye make up is a little more than I care for on her, but from a distance, you don't notice it that much, so that helps. I think Jillian's giant photo just made us notice it more. And of course it's way better than Lady Gaga. LOL And she is not wearing purple lipstick on Paradiso. I think the color used was supposed to contrast with her pink dress, and I think it looked pretty. What color did you expect, bright red? That wouldn't have looked as good with the dress. A lighter pink wouldn't have shown up as well. The color also went well with the rest of the makeup that she had on. And Martin, Paradiso is part of the title of Cinema Paradiso, so it comes from a title of songs on the album.

I think a June 3rd release in the UK and a June 11th in the US sound great. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Both on the correct release days for each country. But then, maybe she would need more time in between dates for promotion. However, I think June would be better than July, because most people are still in town in early/mid-June, but not so much in July.

Just cuz, I slightly edited the new photo to make it feel less "gray-ish," I guess. And I took off those nasty white bars. (Click for bigger) I think it looks even better all livened up. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
