Well, there is still that fabulous voice. If she can make me sit up and take notice with "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" then she is doing something right. It is almost taking the mick, saying Hayley can sing absolutely anything and make it sound fabulous. What next "Baa Baa Black Sheep"? "Three Blind Mice"? I'm sure there will be a lot more on the album to enjoy. And as has been said before, she could sing the phone directory and still make you think it was wonderful. That is the talent she has. The Royal baby will be a big media event, and it might perhaps be a stroke of genius to use that to promote a Hayley album. We all know, that you only have to hear that voice and if you have any love of music at all, you will never be the same again. This might bring her to the attention of a lot more people. I hope so.

Well done Dave, it all looks fantastic! What an exciting day. I don't think I've been this excited since the day I first met Hayley! This could turn out to be an amazingly insightful move by Hayley - some of these tracks are so well known; so famous and loved, this album could sell for generations to come and become a classic of the modern era. Best wishes Grant

I got the email from the official HW site about Hayley's new album. I'm so excited!
I wasn't so thrilled about the lullaby them. But the little sample of "Twinkle, Twinkle" sounds so exquisite. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
I often listen to Hayley at bedtime to help me relax and fall asleep. (Wasn't Hayley's voice deemed the most relaxing, even more relaxing than Mozart, in a study a while back?) So, this album will be perfect for that.
Looking forward to "Dream a Little Dream of Me". I hope she also does "All I Do is Dream of You", "I Dreamt that I Dwelt in Marble Halls", or "All Night, All Day". Thinking about it, there are quite a lot of lullaby/dream-themed songs out there!

Hi all, Yes, good work Dave on getting all of today's good news onto the website. I echo the same to members contributing some very good posts this week. What a lovely set of songs we know of so far. My mom will love 'Hush Little Baby' ... she sang it to me and my brother when we were small and needed comfort. So I may have to buy her a CD too! It's all very exciting isn't it! I may need some of these songs to sleep tonight : How wonderful that the album will be dedicated to new (and soon to be) parents, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The CD would be a lovely baby shower gift! Please stay with HWI for all the latest news, as I send you my sincerest thanks for all of your dedication.

Decca seem to be big into Royal themed albums, lately. Laura Wright had 'Glorious' to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee and I think there were plenty of releases for Will and Kate's wedding. So it now seems that Hayley's been given the duties for the royal birth themed album.
I can see this meaning that Hayley will get some air time with performances when Breakfast TV starts heavily focusing on the impending birth of the heir.
I wonder what's happening with that album of original songs and 'Hayley direction' that we've so eagerly been anticipating. I thought that was underway prior to the opportunity of Paradiso presenting itself and may have been re-started for the next album. However, another themed opportunity has now presented itself.
This must have been planned pretty quickly. I would say the album was planned and written within about a month or just slightly more. The album was being recorded a little over 2 months after the announcement of the pregnancy and only a month after the announcement of the due date.
So I'm guessing the timeline would have been this - based on things found on Twitter (it's quite interesting, actually):
1. On 16 October 2012, Hayley tweets she is in the studio and it's time to write a song.
2. On 17 November 2012, Hayley tweets that it is 'time to write'.
3. Duchess of Cambridge announces pregnancy on 3 December 2012. This would change any album plans which may have been formed during October and November writing sessions.
4. On 11 January 2013, Hayley cryptically tweets she is 'BRAINstorming'.
5. On 14 January 2013, it is announced that the heir will be born in July 2013. Hence the necessary release date for the album is known.
6. On 29 January 2013, Hayley tweets that she is 'brewing some musical potions'.
7. 13 February 2013, recording starts on Hushabye for a week.
8. There's a break in recording, as Hayley heads over to NZ for her concert at Blenheim. 9. By 19 March 2013, recording is underway again and by 24 March 2013, recording is finalised.
10. On 27 March 2013, Hayley meets with Decca to discuss the album release.
11. Hushabye album shoot done on 4 April 2013.
12. Hayley heads over to the Far East for her tour.
13. On 2 May 2013, the video shoot for Hushabye is shot.
However, it's always a possibility that Decca were anticipating that royal heir would be born in the next couple of years or so, anyway, and so had an album planned and just waiting for the opportunity. Sort of like how a lot of newspapers have ready written obituaries for certain high profile people that can be run at a moment's notice.

My goodness Jillian, you have been busy already on this fine weekend! Yes it's a very interesting list you have there and of course, the royal baby explains the rush, this must be the fastest studio album Hayley's ever done... from conception to release in 6 months and from official announcement to release in 6 weeks is pretty good going, in fact it's astonishing! Decca are going to be very busy indeed with this and it makes me hopeful that they will promote it heavily between now and the Royal birth and will continue to promote it for a week or two afterwards. It may not be the album that some members had hoped for but in my view, it was an opportunity not to be missed. It should go down well in Commonwealth countries too but I'm not sure how it fits in to the US market, I don't know if there is much interest there in the British Royal Family? Nevertheless, nice one Hayley, nice one Decca! Cheers, Dave

My goodness Jillian, you have been busy already on this fine weekend! Cheers, Dave lol I couldn't help myself when I realised the public haven't actually known about Catherine's pregnancy for all that long! Plus, I'm avoiding doing work... Nice one Hayley, nice one Decca! Cheers, Dave I think you've hit the nail on the head there, Dave. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif This album is first and foremost an exercise in publicity and media promotion more than anything. The media promotion Hayley will get for this album will stand her in good stead for new releases. I mean, I am really very disappointed (there I said it but I promise I won't say it again) with being given Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as the first track off a lullaby album. But you've made me feel better! Thanks, Dave! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif If this album sells and promotes Hayley, then it may tempt Decca into pushing her next album with tours and perhaps even a DVD. The industry is cut throat and competitive and Hayley's got to do what she's got to do. As you said, it was an opportunity not to be missed. Maybe Hushabye will be like a Christmas album? lol I've now found my mindset to be enthusiastic about this release and I'm sticking to it! Plus, everyone I know who has a baby for the next eternity will be getting a copy of this album! Baby shower gifts all sorted, then. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Let's start infiltrating and brain washing babies at birth to love Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Cheers, Dave PS, I slightly edited your posted quote so it matched my subsequently edited post!

Hi Dave, Well, the TV stations will be mad for anything 'Will and Kate'. They'll be wanting an interview with the garbage man who once emptied the bins and Catherine's cousin's house to give his insight into the birth and life of the heir. So I think many publications and shows will want Hayley on to sing and talk about the baby and her meeting Prince William and the royals.

Well... the album cover is definitely very nice. Way better than Amazon's, although I wasn't sure I was thrilled at the similarity, after what Jon Cohen said. I'm a little annoyed that he tried to assure us of something, and it turned out not to be exactly truthful, but whatever. Some of the songs mentioned I'll definitely be looking forward to hearing, Dream a Little Dream of Me, All Through the Night (didn't someone suggest that recently?), and Hushabye Mountain. I wish they would've put one of those songs out today, instead of this one. Already there are comments below about how only parents with toddlers will buy it. Dave, as Sing says, there actually is a lot of fascination about the Royals in the US, partly because we don't have any, and you know how little girls love princesses and fairytale stories, and Will & Kate's story was kind of fairytale-ish. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Actually, not just little girls, but a lot of young women probably sighed over it all, too. Not me, though, that's not my personality. In the US, I at least think the Celtic Woman fans will buy it, because if they'll buy Orla's album, they'll buy this. This certainly won't be the album that gets her to tour here, but if it raises her profile in the UK, I'm all for it. Sort of. LOL I actually don't have a problem with Decca trying to "cash in" on the Royal baby stuff. Because, if it means Hayley gets lots of extra attention from the media, again I am all for it!! I'm glad they chose Hayley to do it. Most of them have met her by now and have heard her perform for them before. It's actually not surprising that Hayley should be given such an honor! Now that we see the purpose for all this, I'm not nearly as disappointed as I was at first, like Jillian says. But, I still feel like we've been let down again. I still wouldn't call this a "real" Hayley album, because obviously this isn't all Hayley's creation and idea, although I bet there will be a few originals by Hayley... or maybe 1, at least. But.. I'm really going to be hoping for that movie soundtrack to make me feel that much better. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Lots of elves in the next Hobbit movie.

I wonder if this will be released in Taiwan... If it is, I'm betting "Bao Bei" will be a bonus track. I am a wee bit sad that Jon led us down a false path, but I still think this is going to be a great album, and good publicity for Hayley. Also, a couple of other big things: "Twinkle" has been up for less than 24 hours and already has 2500 views! Hushabye has also entered the Amazon.co.uk Top 100 chart, as 100. Not bad for a basically un-announced, un-advertised, unknown album! -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
