I'm not sure I take lack of denial as a confirmation... Hi Libby and everyone, As Joe has said, I clarified that statement in my following post by saying: That was from Bandana and there is no ambiguity in my question or the reply. But of course, unless and until the artwork has been printed and the physical CDs produced, it could change as with any new album. Release dates too, it's all down to Decca at the end of the day and they seem to work in mysterious ways. When the album details are officially announced, we will start a new thread and clearly distinguish it from this one, meanwhile I'll have a think about the best title for this thread. But I think too much is being made of the importance of the album title, what really matters is Hayley's name and the album content, followed by the title and cover. Decca will choose what they think will help to sell the most copies to the wider CD buying public who like this kind of music, rather than Hayley's much smaller band of enthusiastic fans like us. I would be happy to see any of the titles so far suggested and I can't wait to see the track listing and hear some samples, something to really look forward to in the near future, hopefully less than two weeks by now. Hi everyone,
So we finally have an official name, I'm not sure that I love the title Hushabye. However Dave makes an excellent point, it could be called Hayley Sings the Phone Book and I would buy it, it is Decca's job to persuade others to buy it too and obviously the content is more important for that and we have yet to hear any of the reasons behind the title and I'm sure there are some.

Bit of a joke Libby! She had so much stuff on that table that she might have been tempted to overdo it!

And yes, Taylor, I like the "new" covers much better. Thanks Libby! Took a while to figure out how to expand the photo - pain in the butt, really - but I think it was worthwhile. Dave makes an excellent point, it could be called Hayley Sings the Phone Book and I would buy it. Lol, wouldn't we all? Maybe she would include 867-5309! -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

oohhh this is getting very exciting!!! I'm on the fence about the title, so for now I won't pass judgment til I see/hear the album. I can't wait to find out the release dates! (not to mention the tracklistings, but let's take it one step at a time, eh?)

Of course, I'm sure the album will be really good no matter the title. But my worry is more what the title seems to imply, and how that will affect a more casual buyer's interest in it. Well, at least if the photo we've seen is on the cover, that will definitely attract attention, as everyone is saying. I'm sorry to be so pessimistic about it... but, as you can see, I'm not the only one here who doesn't care for the title. It's hard not to pass judgments when all you have is a title, and nothing more. The fact that 2 American sources showed the title of Dream a Little Dream actually made me wonder if the title will be different in different countries, but I really hope not, because we all know how well confusion like that works out. But, if it meant the American version wasn't called Hushabye, then I'd be all for it. Sort of. LOL Another misgiving I have about the title is that I cannot picture an album called Hushabye with songs like BOTW or I Know You By Heart. I will be very disappointed not to get a recording of either of these songs. You Raise Me Up would've been nice, too. Well, the more original songs by Hayley the better, I say. I'm comforting myself with that thought, because hopefully that will reduce the likelihood of old-fashioned music. I hope.

Dave, the end of "this month" is in less than 1 week! In a previous post, you said it was supposed to be "this month"! Of course, Bob (from the OF) and I were told right before Easter that it would be "in the next couple weeks". Either she didn't really know, or she thinks 4 is a couple. If she didn't know, she should have just said so.

I just listened to a couple (only 2!) versions of Hushabye Mountain. The first one was by Dick Van Dyke. I thought it sounded okay, but the music was a little too tinkly for my taste. But then I tried a version by a Stacey Kent, and I liked it much better that way, and it helped me imagine Hayley singing it. If she sang it like that, I think I would actually like it. So, I guess I can live with Hushabye if that's why it's called that. LOL And, if that is the reason, maybe that doesn't eliminate the possibility of the songs I'm worried about missing. I'm starting to think your Over the Rainbow is more likely, though, but what do I know? Ironically, the title of the Stacey Kent album that it appeared on was called Dreamsville.

Of course there is no guarantee that "Hushabye Mountain" will be on the album. For all we know, Hay;ey could have written a song called "Hushabye".

...Or even Lullaby, or Dream a Little Dream. And of course, the delay in announcing it could be either to coincide with the tour tickets going on general sale on Friday, or to await Hayley's return from the Far East, or because Decca can't make up their minds... If only we knew! Dave

Perhaps there is a promotional concert tour. But they don't want to announce it at the same time as "Nights on Broadway". So they will wait until the NOB tickets have been on sale for a while. And to give us all a chance to recover from the financial shock!!

It'd be awesome if Dream a Little Dream of Me was on the album! I really like that song. I sang it a few years ago with an all women choral ensemble. I was skeptical at first because the choral director had us doing way too much doo-wap stuff. While I can barely tolerate doo-wap, I love DALD
