Hey folks! I live in NY and I'm a huge Hayley fan. Unfortunately, pretty much everyone I've ever met here has never even heard of her If any other New Yorkers are Hayley fans, have you had a similar experience? And how did you first learn about Hayley? P.S. I saw Hayley perform at the American Christmas carol at Carnegie Hall in November. All performances were outstanding, especially Hayley! Great evperience Cheers! -Rory

Welcome to the forum, Rory. I'm not from New York, but your experience is the same throughout the country. Hardly anybody seems to know who she is here! I'm glad you got to go to the concert. I desperately wanted to go, too, but it didn't work out. I'm desperate for her to come to Seattle sometime, or even California would be easier than NY.

Oh, dude, I completely understand!! Sadly, it's actually kinda laughable thinking about many people here in Alabama knowing Hayley. Oh well. ANYWAY; Welcome to the forum Rory!! Hope to see you often. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

That's wonderful that you caught the performance at Canegie Hall!

Hello Rory, and welcome to the forum! I'm pleased you enjoyed Hayley's performance at Carnegie Hall back in November. In case you haven't found it yet, we have a thread about the concert with lots of photographs and a few videos, so you can relive the experience starting HERE. Best wishes from London, Richard

Wow I didn't expect so many replies so quickly! : Sad to hear that Hayley is scarcely known here in the states, but at least her U.S. fans (however few) are every bit as loyal as any others. And I have seen the Carnegie page - great to see that so much of that great show was recorded and documented. I remember being very excited when she played "Both Sides Now;" if I recall correctly it was not on the playbill making for a nice surprise! -Rory

I used to live in NYC and found that Hayley's albums sold well there. She has a following or they wouldn't carry her CDs. I think that with the right publicity she could do well in the states. Her voice lends itself nicely to American music, especially Broadway and Country. Maybe in time they'll put together a sensible campaign to market her more successfully stateside. It wouldn't hurt if she had a big movie song to her credit.

It would be great to have more opportunities to see her perform here, and someone that talented deserves to have the whole world as her audience -Rory

Haha you're right I was not expecting that! Loved it though. I think I may prefer that version actually, I always thought the original was a tad boring.

Wow, thanks for unearthing that, Richard! I fast-forwarded it a little, though, because it took too long to get to Hayley. Rory, I'm not sure which version you listen to, but the one with the "vocalise" section in it is so much better than the version with the choir. It's on one of the UK editions of Pure, the special edition, I think.

Hello Libby and Rory! I believe Hayley's appearance with Natalie MacMaster was part of a PBS Special, but 'Pokarekare Ana' was not included on the subsequent DVD. Read more about the DVD HERE. Richard
