Hi everyone, I have confirmation today from Bandana Management that Hayley will take part in Carols In The City on 6th December, here is the announcement: Further details are on the Marie Curie Cancer Care website here: www.mariecurie.org.uk/en-gb/events/social-events/carols-in-the-city-8994/Tickets are said to be £40, or £55 for the concert and reception afterwards. "On the night, guests can expect an array of musical acts and celebrity festive readings" and as mentioned above, Hayley's involvement is limited. But of course, we'll add it to the schedules and will state 6:30pm as per the Marie Curie website, to be on the safe side. . Cheers, Dave

Hi All If anyone is thinking of going then do not rush to phone this telephone number before Monday as the "Special Events" team are now out of the office until then. I have just tried! Note that I was told there is no reserved seating. Martin

Hmmm... I was hoping Hayley would do something for Christmas this year. But is it worth travelling to London and the high ticket prices for 2 songs? Probably would be a night out, maybe in the van - could be chilly, and bad weather for travelling. And midweek too - a Thursday. I'll have to think about it. Much as I love to hear Hayley sing. However, to be getting on with I asked Hayley at the post concert reception to sign the programme, not to me but to HWI: Martin

This carol concert was in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care which provides nurses for the support of terminally ill patients at their homes during the last few weeks and days of their lives. The importance of this care and support to their families during these difficult times is immeasurable. The evening was held in Southwark Cathedral near London Bridge and is one of the most magnificent cathedrals I have had the pleasure to visit. It is around 1000 years old but, alas, is also one of the coldest!! The concert itself consisted of several Christmas carols sung by choir and audience, together with three topical readings from local actors Phil Davis, Natascha McElhone and Olivia Hallinan. The highlight for me was Hayley, who closed the concert with two songs; “Away in a Manger” and “Ave Maria” (Bach/Gounod). Dressed in a little black number and warm black leggings her appearance was all too short but it was Hayley’s attendance and support for this worthy cause that was the important factor here. With just piano accompaniment Hayley gave a perfect performance. During the concert I noticed that a professional photographer was taking photos throughout so at the end I asked him if it was possible to send me those of Hayley for our website. He instantly agreed but asked if I would wait until tomorrow as they were also going to be used by the charity. I am now in possession of them but will delay posting on the forum until tomorrow as requested. They are stunning. After the concert I attended the charity reception and mulled wine and mince pies were provided for the cold guests! After about 15 minutes patient waiting Hayley appeared with Arnaud and surprisingly very few guests took the opportunity to talk to her or take photos. I took advantage of this and was able to have a thoroughly enjoyable chat with both Hayley and Arnaud before I had to leave. Hayley was in great form as indeed was Arnaud although both were looking forward to a break and a rest after a hectic few months. I didn’t ask any leading questions on appearance plans for 2013 although Arnaud did say that he was expecting another busy year for himself (he had only just arrived back from working in Argentina). The only snippet I gleaned was that Hayley has another concert in Asia next year. So, that’s it really. An enjoyable evening supporting the charity and meeting Hayley again. I will leave you with one photo taken by Arnaud.

Thanks for that Martin. Looking forward to the photos. Sound's like you had a great night. Hearing Hayley sing in a great cathedral is something special, as I know from the Winter Magic tour.

Which version of Away in a Manger? The one that she did on the special edition of Pure, or the other one? The "other one" is the only one I ever knew until I sang the different version in choir. I really like the design on her top/outfit.
