Wow, this newest performance of Whispers in a Dream was the best I've heard in a long time!! Finally, she got it completely right. Not so heavy and slow as other times, yet a tiny bit more gusto than in the recording, so it was absolutely perfect, as far as I'm concerned! I really wish I could've been there... :-( My dress guess turned out to be wrong, but that was because I was expecting it to be a lot more Christmas than that, that's why I chose the green one. My next guess was the red Amanda Wakeley dress, and my 3rd guess was the blue one. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I just got a Tweet about Kate Winnslet and Hayley embracing at Carnegie. I guess Kate must be a fan. cool! Well, if she wasn't a fan before, she must be now! But I must say, she does not look nearly as cheerful as Hayley in their pictures together. Is she just not much of a smiler, or was she just focusing on looking glamorous? Haha.

Neither, Libby, I was one of the first people in the Rohatyn Room, and one of the few to actually say hi to Kate (she left almost immediately), who was rushing around trying to take promotional pictures in a separate anteroom with all the performers together and then all the performers individually, which probably translates to about 50 or 60 pictures (in a situation like that you do multiple shots to increase your chances of getting one that's "the one"). This had to be done in about 15-20 minutes because the room was filling up fast with VIP ticket holders eager to mingle with those they had paid big money to mingle with, so maybe they didn't have time to take yet another shot of Hayley and Kate individually with a reminder to Kate to smile, which she is doing in some of the other pictures. Sarah McLachlan was first out and first GONE, I count myself lucky to have gotten a few words in and a picture or two (didn't post them here because it's Hayley's forum) as well as a signed program. Hayley was second out, and surrounded quickly by a dozen fans, but handled "the siege" with complete aplomb (Brian Lane was there but did not have to say a word).

Hey! I don't have a picture of Katie from Carnegie Hall or Jack and Cindy who also attended the Boston Affair, I hope someone has something since they have PERFECT ATTENDANCE for HAYLEY'S appearances in the U.S. this year (2012)!
Sorry to miss you Eugene, my loss!

There is a limit to how many clothes she could carry in her suitcases. So we could be sure it would be one we had seen before. And on this tour most probably. And especially as she said she needed to have clothes for a wide range of climates. That would severely severely restrict the number of performance dresses she could carry. Of course it is possible that her manager who she must have met up with in New York could have brought another dress for her, but unlikely I suspect. Martin D

My Mom and I enjoyed Hayley's concert at Carnegie Hall. My Gradmother remembered us that She and my grandfather saw Hayley performed with Boston Pops at Arena the Harbor Yard in Bridgeport ,Ct in December of 2004 for their 50th anniversary how did I missed that one so close to home.

She wore 1 dress to the concert, as far as we can tell. What difference would it make if it she had packed a different one?? Aside from the fact the green one is a longer dress? I'm saying I had 3 dress guessses, not that I thought she brought 3 along. Although I'm pretty sure I've seen her say before (maybe in her book) that she normally brings along a back-up just in case.

I just got a Tweet about Kate Winnslet and Hayley embracing at Carnegie. I guess Kate must be a fan. cool! I can see how Winslet and Westenra would hit it off. Kate is an excellent singer in addition to being an actress. She also starred in a movie "Heavenly Creatures" about a crime in Christchurch, NZ — see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavenly_Creatures.

Yes, directed by Peter Jackson, no less. I think that was his first major film, if I remember correctly. But, of course, Hayley was still very young then, so Kate wouldn't have heard of her back then.

Not sure if anyone already found these, but if you go to the Golden Hat Foundation webpage on Facebook they have posted some pictures from the concert. There are a few of Hayley. Not sure how to post a link to a Facebook photo album...
