This was a lunch time concert at the Christchurch Jazz School with two other legendary Christchurch musicians Tom Rainey (pianist) and Bob Heinz (guitarist). The Jazz School is on the edge of the Red Zoned CBD with a lot of demolition going on. Some damaged shops on High St High St with the Jazz School on the right One of many car parks on vacant land Fiona and Tom started with Nature Boy by Nat King Cole and was beautifully played by two great musicians. Then Bob came on stage to join them and they played Swing 42 by the legendary Django Reinhardt. The audience of about 80 was very appreciative of each of the three musicians skills. Then Fiona and the two guys played a new tune written by Fiona called Memories which Fiona described as an old fashioned French tune and it was great. Then a jazz tune by the Frenchman Joseph Kosma called Autumn leaves. Fiona and Bob Heinz Tom Rainey Another jazz tune which you could imagine being played in a sleazy New York club called Harlem Nocturne by Earle Hagen. (Fiona would fit in well in a Jazz Club lol) Then Tom and Fiona played an emotional version of Schindler's List. Then the three played an upbeat swing tune from Reinhardt called Douce Ambience. Then to finish off they played Nuage followed by Tangissimo. Later I thanked Fiona for a really well done concert by the three maestros.

Hi Ross, That concert looks great! It must be a treat to have Fiona doing quite a few local concerts in Christchurch these days! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Sad to see that the buildings are still being demolished. How is everything going? Does the council have any idea about when the works will be completed? Jillian
