I was wondering whether any Welsh HWI members could help me out here. I've been discovering what a wealth of beautiful hymns and tunes come from Wales, from Calon Lan to Dyma gariad fel y moroedd ( Here is Love Vast as the Ocean). I recently came across Blaenwern. I am curious to know what are the original set of words to the tune. youtu.be/VC_u12nRbVwAccording to Wikipedia, it is used for the Welsh hymn "Deued Dyddiau O Bob Cymysg". Is there an English versified translation of this hymn? I'd be really interested to see the translated lyrics. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlaenwernIs "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling" the most common text for this tune? Or is another text used more often in Wales?

Well, have sung that wonderful Hymn "Love Divine" many times to that tune. But that is in England, not Wales. Fabulous tune I have to say. My wife's favourite hymn.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it is a beautiful tune. It is a pity that it is not sung so often in the US. We have a hymn singing group with some friends, and I would like to introduce them to this tune. I would like to use the original words, if possible. If not, I will use what is most common.
