Hi again -
There appears to be an Hellenic connection between Akoo and Mario. Akoo Founder and CEO is a fellow Greek, Niko Drakoulis.

(Can't help but think of what exposure this will give Hayley!)

Hi - At the top site listed above, if you click on "Women Of The World" at the top of the page, and then click on the tiny stamp-sized picture in the center of the screen (photos), you will be able to see a picture of Hayley (1st in row 4). Don't remember seeing that picture before. (Another one that I don't know how to capture, sorry to say.) BobS

I really don't have a clue what any of that's about. What are they showing at all those malls, and how, and why?

Hello Libby! I think Mario Frangoulis Live with the Boston Pops is being shown on screens in the food courts at the shopping malls listed, so I've shared Women of the World's post on our Facebook page. I've added the article about the Akoo Pavilions as a comment. Richard

Thanks, Taylor, for posting the picture, and improving it. I just might be able to post a picture someday soon! Last night I was looking at a section on BBCode, and actually understood at least some of it. What a wealth of information that I've been missing!

I really don't have a clue what any of that's about. What are they showing at all those malls, and how, and why? Me neither! That is the first that I have heard of it, and I have more questions than answers. Intend to look into it more, though, as it sounds interesting. Maybe we will hear from someone soon who has seen it in operation. BobS PS Here is something rather enlightening that I just found. Wow! simon.com/mall/cape-cod-mall/stores/akoo-pavilion-interactive-tv(about 20 screens per mall)

Hi -
The more that I find out about the workings of Akoo, the less enthused I become about it being an important source of exposure for Hayley. I would not expect that many mall patrons, or students in universities where the screens are also located, will be requesting that the Frangoulis video be shown. If requested, it will be shown only at the screen for which the request is made, as I understand it. Am now thinking that the up-coming PBS showings will be of far more benefit to Hayley than Akoo.

Hi - After reading the Wikipedia article about WGBX-TV, I am left with the feeling that WGBH-TV (the major Boston PBS station) was leery of the Frangoulis show's drawing power, which also may be why we are not seeing it show up on more PBS stations around the country. BobS

Thank you BobS!!! Just set my DVR to record it. I did a quick search of the channel schedule--as of right now this is the only airing in the Boston area. Edit: They only aired A Hero is Inside. They said the DVD included 11 additional songs not aired--hoping that includes the other 3 songs Hayley was in. You could get the DVD for an $85 pledge. At the beginning of the show it sounded like this would only be aired in other markets if this airing produced lots of pledges. I uploaded a short interview that they had with Hayley to Youtube. The only video capture device I have was bought to convert old family VHS tapes, so not the best quality. I will take it down if someone uploads an HD version. You can hear A Hero is Inside in the background. I am not going to upload the song, since the DVD will be available for sale. I am assumming it is okay to post a link to just the inteview. If this is not okay because of copyright, let me know and I will remove the link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kX96PVpqCL0&feature=plcpKatie

Hi -
To add my 2 cents worth to what Katie has already said - - Am greatly disappointed with what I saw (and didn't see). The program was an hour-and-a half long with 3 lengthy pledge-drive intermissions plus more at the beginning and at the ending. It was about 35 minutes into the program before Hayley appeared to sing the song with Mario that we have seen a little of in the promo video (that Libby didn't think much of, and I agree). That was it, period! That is all we saw of her. Lots of Mario singing, so the Frangoulis fans should be pleased. Hayley did have some nice exposure during the second intermission in the form of a one-sided mini interview to which was added some of the important highlights of her career by the announcer. That was nice.

I agree with you BobS. In my opinion they cut out some of the best songs (even going beyond the ones Hayley was in.) But I guess they want you to pledge for the DVD...
Overall, the editing seemed a little rough to me. Expected though--comparing it to a lot of the others shows PBS aired this one had to have had a small budget.
Interesting note when everyone one else can watch A Hero is Inside...most of that was shot during the retakes. Mario kept messing up one of the lines in the song. During the retakes the prompters stopped working and Hayley was coaching him on the lyrics until they got them working again.
