I'm posting this here for now, since there's no soundtrack available yet. Today I visited IMDB.com, looking up the actor who plays Rumplestiltskin (sp?) in the popular ABC show, Once Upon a Time. He's one of my favorite characters, and I was wondering about his accent. I happened to see that he was in the movie Flood, and discovered he was the main character! Robert Carlyle. I have to say I like him with long hair better. LOL Anyway, I looked at the page for Flood, and when I found Hayley's name (by clicking on Full Cast and Crew), I clicked on her name, too. I've seen the page before, just wanted to look again. I discovered that she's listed as a solo singer for a movie called The Stolen, which is supposed to be released in the UK and NZ in 2013! The composer is Paul Lawler. I visited the website for the film to find out more about it. It takes place in New Zealand in the 1860's. One of the main actors has been a bad guy in Casino Royale, and also in the recently-released version of The Three Musketeers. It looks kind of interesting! I'd like to see it, but if it's not released in the US, how would I go about seeing it, short of ordering it? What if I don't like it? No, I never saw Flood, and the reviews don't look too promising. The composer doesn't appear to be anyone well-known, mostly doing documentaries and TV shows. I can't wait to see what Hayley sings for it! Here's the page that credits Hayley as the soloist for The Stolen: www.imdb.com/title/tt1680140/fullcredits#castHere's Hayley's profile on IMDB.com: www.imdb.com/name/nm1507406/The main profile page for The Stolen: www.imdb.com/title/tt1680140/And The Stolen's official site: www.stolenthemovie.com/I remember another movie where Hayley and Aled Jones were supposed to sing for the soundtrack, but the movie got "shelved", and we haven't heard about it since. So maybe we shouldn't get too excited yet.

Hey Libby!
Gee that's a bit of a find! Good work! I guess we'll have to wait and see!
Cheers, Jillian

Oh, and the main character is played by Keisha Castle-Hughes, from Whale Rider and The Nativity Story. Hey, I guess it's a good thing I watch Once Upon a Time, otherwise I wouldn't have found this! It'll be a while though. It's still in pre-production, and they don't show what date it will be released. Well, we'll find out sometime. In the meantime. let's hope she gets picked for a slightly more exciting movie soundtrack too! Hopefuly the one coming out this December!

Interesting find, Libby! Perhaps Hayley is going to New Zealand to record the soundtrack after her appearance at the Beijing Film Festival next weekend. Richard

Thanks Libby for posting that, it's very interesting! The odd thing is that I'm sure that I have read that report on the film's website before, perhaps last year some time, but I can't find any previous mention of it here in the forum, so perhaps I didn't. It's all very strange, when you get that feeling of déj**SPAM? PLEASE REPORT vu! Cheers, Dave

This movie has indie low-budget profile, so it might not make it to America unless it gets awesome reviews. Hayley's contribution might tip the balance toward that if the vocals are integral to the story.

Well, it just says it's going to be released in the UK and NZ, just as it says for Flood, so we can probably count on NOT seeing it in the US. However, since there are some slightly well-known actors in it, you never know. But it won't be a blockbuster, that's for sure. The website doesn't mention Hayley's involvement at all yet. I know from reading IMDB's page for The Hobbit that they are given to listing people who may be rumored to be involved, but turn out not to be, after all. But it definitely makes sense to have Hayley sing for a movie taking place in NZ, especially with Maori people in it. I'm hoping for at least one song in Maori! Richard, I suppose it's possible that Hayley would be recording it soon. But it doesn't even say whether they're actually filming it in NZ or not. I'm guessing they will, since it's a popular filming location these days. Plus, it would be easier to recruit the Maori actors there. But the composer seems to be British, so there's just no telling. Like I said somewhere else, let's see if Hayley tells us about her NZ trip. I'm still wondering about her mum's birthday.

Finally, they updated The Stolen's IMDB page. And guess what, the actor who plays the dwarf Dwalin in The Hobbit is in it! His name is Graham McTavish, an actor from Scotland, who has had guest roles in popular American shows like NCIS and Lost. His character name in the movie is Bully. I don't know if that's his actual name, or just a generic title. LOL I think that fits, though, since they made Dwalin be that way a little. He's the first dwarf that comes to call on poor, unsuspecting Bilbo. www.imdb.com/title/tt1680140/

Yaayyyyy!!! I'm excited! I wonder whether it will be in the theaters or not? Of course, I'm not likely to be able to go (it says it's only released in the UK and NZ), but maybe there'll be a DVD, and I assume a CD with the soundtrack. I'm mostly interested in it because of Hayley of course, but also now because one of the dwarves from the Hobbit is in it, as I mentioned above. Hmm, and why was her sister there? Just tagging along? Joining in on the score? Or... the movie itself?? Since she is interested in being an actress.

I'm beginning to doubt that this movie will be out this year. IMDB still says 2013, but there's still no exact date, and there is only a few months left of this year. The IMDB site was last updated July 7th, only to add one actress to the list, it seems. www.imdb.com/title/tt1680140/

From Twitter this morning: Richard I cannot believe how long ago this was now! I found the info on the movie in 2012, and this tweet over 3 years ago, probably before we even knew anything about Hushabye!! I just checked the IMDB page for this movie again, and it's still listed in pre-production, though it was updated this January. Hayley is still listed as the solo singer, though the composers are different. Before I said it was somebody named Paul Lawler. Now, it says Music by Reinhard Besser and Walter Mair. Not many well-known films to their name; looks like mostly horror stuff, and video games, even. LOL Well, Howard Shore used to do horror, too! I think a few actors have been added, and by now Keisha Castle-Hughes, who was originally listed as the main character, isn't listed any longer. However, she's still mentioned on the website, as well as someone else who is no longer listed, so the website is outdated. I wonder if the actors gave up on it for other things while it was taking so long, or maybe the delay is because those actors left. Who knows? I follow the creator of the movie, Emily Corcoran, on twitter, and I occasionally see stuff from her about other movies she's working on, but for some reason this movie has been really slow to get going... kind of like Hayley's album... Maybe I'll ask Emily on twitter. She responded to me about something else not too long ago, so maybe she'll get back to me on this, too. She sounds like a bit of a low-budget movie producer, because my conversation with her involved recommendations for a male Maori actor, so I suggested the guy who played the Pale Orc, Azog, in the Hobbit, Manu Bennett. She said that he would be perfect, but they couldn't afford him! In reply, I told her he does look expensive, and she said he certainly does! Oh, speaking of the Hobbit, one of the dwarves is listed to be in The Stolen, and actually is one of the few who has been listed for it all this time. His name is Graham McTavish. I believe he also stars in the series, Outlander.

Okay, after all that, I discovered this most recent tweet by Emily, but cannot get the link to work. I click it and it opens a blank window, and it sits there acting like it's trying to load, but nothing ever happens. But, I still find this to be an encouraging sign. Update: I think it must be the website. I tried just screendaily.com by itself, does the same thing. In a google search, I don't find much. There was something in the search results text that said 2017, but the link is broken.
