Wowee!! Love the pics! I hope we get videos in the future. I'd love to hear Hayley sing these songs. ---Edit: Nevemind! I just logged onto facebook and saw the videos of My Heart Will Go On and You And Me posted everywhere. Haa! I should have checked there first! Hayley sounded wonderful, as always! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifJenny♥

First off, I need and want to thank all of you for the links to the videos and the wonderful pics that you posted in this thread. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I think Hayley did very, very well. I actually prefer her duet performance to the original. A nice fluid and full sound compared to Sarah B. No offense. And her MHWGO was really good, especially the last chorus and the vocalize parts where I felt Hayley gave it all she had- emotionally and vocally. Beautiful!! And it was nice for a change to hear the song sang like someone meant it; Celine has been lipping the song for over 12 yrs now thereby not putting much umph in her performances. My only complaint is that I thought MHWGO was too fast in tempo, but brilliant nonetheless. Alicia

Alicia you are so right about Hayley's rendition of "My Heart Will Go On". She breathed new life into this titanic ballad and made it a night to remember.

You could say, Hayley's song from 'Titanic' went down very well! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifEdit: Steve MacDonald made a much wittier comment in the Breaking the States thread: I personally think she knocked it out of the pavilion in Beijing. She has officially taken ownership of that song from the sinking ship! You win, Steve! Richard

When I heard the extremely muted applause when Hayley came on stage I had that sinking feeling but when that first note came out we set sail again. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Loved Hayley's interpretation and I liked the backdrop including the wind in Hayley's face. We just needed some spray to cap it off. A 3D performance! My favourite though was "You and Me". Did you hear the applause when Hayley sang a few bars in Chinese? Martin

Hi everyone, Unfortunately I was out for most of yesterday so I wasn't able to follow events in Beijing, thanks to everyone for all the information and links posted! I have been doing some catch-up and have now located versions of Hayley's two performances with a higher frame rate (25 instead of the 25 already posted) The sound is the same and sadly, a mere 32 kbps (peaking at 57kbps) and the video compression etc. is similar, but the higher frame rate should eliminate any slight jerkiness that some may notice. I'll upload them this evening, my time. Cheers, Dave

.. Celine has been lipping the song for over 12 yrs now ... Let's get to the bottom of this: While Celine may have been the founder of this style of crossover, Hayley's version was more buoyant and she would never lip-sync. I'm sure there would have been an icy reception otherwise. The photos looked nice... I'm so glad they had the Cameron her.

Steve, I'm sorry if I have misread your post here, but I feel the need to explain my first post. I had nothing but praise for Hayley's performance. My only complaint went to the director concerning tempo. I never suspected or thought Hayley lipped the performance. If anything, I am dissing Celine because she has been lipping her biggest hit for 12 years now and not giving it the TLC (tender, love, & care) that it deserves in her performances. Hayley, on the other hand, delivered last night all the TLC that the song has been lacking the last 12 years. And that was so refreshing for me, as a Celine fan, to hear MHWGO the way it should sound....with emotional intensity and sincerity. No hard feelings please. Alicia

Celine lip-synced it? You probably mean when she's on tour, right? Well, whether she did or not, she definitely sounded very powerfully emotional the first time, anyway. She does in all her songs. Having a powerful voice definitely enhances it, I guess. At least Hayley didn't smack herself in the chest like Celine was prone to do! I agree, she looked and sounded very emotional during the song, especially near the end. I think she gave the song her "Amalia" power notes. Just think, if she'd never had to sing Amalia, would her rendition sound different? Interesting concept to ponder. I still think it would've sounded good if she had made those notes more soft and pretty, rather than strain her voice to be powerful. You know, like if she were to sing the song I Will Always Love You (now I am not saying she should), she would do better singing the original version by Dolly Parton, rather than trying to belt out like Whitney Houston. I'm just using that song as an example of how it isn't always necessary to use the power notes, when you could easily use softer ones, if that suits you better, and I think that's what suits Hayley's voice better, for the most part. So anyway, let's not get into a discussion on whether she should sing that song, because I wasn't saying she should. But as I said, I still think she did great with this song.

Hayley is on her way home to London.
Or is she on her way to her 'home' in NZ?

NZ is her home, remember? (yes, I know what you meant) Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's going to NZ, for what, we're not sure yet. I'm still guessing her mum's birthday/Mother's Day. I distinctly remember Hayley mentioning her mum's birthday just around Mother's day last year. I'm also hoping she'll do an interview and she'll spill the beans on any engagement updates. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
