Anyway, back on topic...
More similarities are some of the songs Sissel has sung (although lots of CC singers can claim that):
Lascia Ch'io Pianga Dido's Lament (except Sissel's is called "Dido's Aria" Shenandoah O Mio Babbino Caro
In Lascia and Dido in particular, Sissel sounds very similar, except with a bit of a deeper tone.
As for competition for Hayley to sing for The Hobbit, I've decided that since Sissel already did Titanic, maybe she'll be less likely to be chosen over Hayley... and again that PJ will choose a Kiwi star over a Norwegian one (many of the actors in his movies, and nearly the whole crew, are Kiwi, after all!). I thought maybe since there are 2 movies, it might be okay if both of them got chosen, but then, their tones are similar enough people who don't know them both might think they are the same (even though the differences to us would be more obvious).

Oh, yes, thanks. I saw that on Amazon, but the clip they had didn't have her singing. I hate it when they do that. They did that for some of the Paradiso songs, too.

Hi Libby, I've heard her duet with Katherine Jenkins live. A long time ago it is true. And I can't even remember what they sang, but it happened. Perhaps someone else can remember 2004 better than I. Martin D Yes, but can't think of the song either! Croydon when KJ was still or just out of college? Peter S.

I think that when Hayley matures she will be a carbon copy of Sissel. Right now Sissel seems to have better control of her voice; but Hayley is getting close. In Madison Hayley showed much more maturity in her voice. Too bad Sissel wants to stay in Norway all the time. However I respect her for getting her priorities in line and putting her family first.

Hi Larry, You may be right there, I made a similar comment about 10 years ago ! I assume that you mean when Hayley's voice is fully mature... though to be fair, I wouldn't expect much more of a change now, until she is very much older. But others know more about this than me and may wish to comment. Cheers, Dave

Well, Hayley just got married, and she lives in London with her husband, when they're not working apart, so that's as good as it gets for now, as far as family priorities, Larry. Haha. I read my original post, and I honestly don't remember writing all that! LOL I do remember making the post about Sissel, though. Does anyone else here ever read a post of yours from years ago, and you don't remember writing a word of it? LOL

Yes, all the time Libby. It's called senility - but you don't look old enough to be suffering from that! Martin D
