Where did the rest of the "Hot Topics" go?

Yes, I wondered about that! Half of what should be there is missing!

Are you saying that a lot of the threads that were recently posted in, aren't appearing in the "Hot Topics" list?

Yes, that seems to have happened, but if you post in one, it then appears. Could this be something to do with the New Year. The missing ones all seem yo be those that were last posted towards the end of last year.

Thanks Martin D, Yes I see it now, the threads are still there but are not being listed in Hot Topics if they were last posted in towards the end of December. I can now see that it's due to some forum house-keeping that Richard did on Sunday afternoon (and mentioned to the other staff, which I've only just noticed). I'm sure he'll be along to expand on this in the morning! The problem will gradually disappear over the next day or two as new threads are posted in. Cheers, Dave

HI all,
Yeah, sorting the 'hot topics' can be rather tricky. This is one glitch of many that will be fixed when ProBoards unveil their new version 5 software in the autumn. I've been a beta-tester on a support forum test board.
Best wishes, Joe

Hello folks! I'll explain exactly what happened yesterday. I unstickied a thread on the Fiona Pears sub-board which then dropped down to the wrong chronological position on the index page. The only way to correct this was to bump lots of other threads, but unfortunately this promoted them all to the Hot Topics list regardless of the date and time of the last post. As Dave said, this should sort itself out in the next few days unless a similar problem occurs. Please don't blame me, blame ProBoards! Martin D, you are correct in guessing the problem was connected with the New Year. The thread I unstickied was Fiona's Concerts Schedule for 2011. Richard
