Hi everyone! First of all, I would like to appologize, it's almost half an year since I've been active... Been rather busy with several things, and I haven't got the time to catch up with the forum... But, it's not lack of interest, so don't worry, sooner or later I'll be back to my normal activity around, and I have some exciting news to share (not too much about Hayley, though, but also some about her).
Well, for now I wanted to ask your opinion about somethning... Some of you may remember my friend Andrea, who is fastly becoming a local star within the Catalan Jazz music. I've been more or less aware that some big labels have recently been interested in Andrea, and today I caught Andrea's father talking with a friend photographer about which one could be better for Andrea, they were mentioning EMI and Universal and comparing them. Thinking of Hayley's experience, I told them that Universal seemed a quite good option, and in terms of artistical freedom, they seemed quite reasonable. However, I am not an expert and I know some of you have a little deeper understandcing of the music industry and recording labels than me.
So, what do you think? For a young and promising jazz artist like Andrea (she is sixteen), which label would you recommend? EMI, Universal or another one? The aim would be to develop a successful and balanced career, that would permit her to finish her school and pursue her musical studies with a certain degree of artistical freedom.

If you have an offer from one of these labels "Snatch it quick"
They are both huge and have decades of experience and massive distribution networks.
If you have an offer from both you will need good professional advice and quickly, (To look at the pros and cons of offered contracts) so as not to delay and perhaps loose both offers.
Go for it.............and Good Luck....
