Hey, this publication is from Tacoma, Washington... actually in my state!!! You think this article would be in the actual newspaper, too?? Of course, the day's nearly over, so I don't know think I'd be able to find today's copy anymore. Anyway, it's too late to go out hunting for it. [Edit: After further investigation, I think these articles are all just online, but better than nothing!] Actually, it's not just this publication that's publishing the article. It's by The Associated Press, a global news service. So I did a search on the title of the article, and found it in many different US news sources!! This one from The Examiner in WA DC is slightly longer, but is the same otherwise, and used this photo, also from the AP: washingtonexaminer.com/entertainment/2011/09/soprano-hayley-westenra-worries-about-christchurchI also found it in connection with The Enquirer in Cincinnati, The Daily Sentinal/Grand Junction Sentinel, which was Colorado and/or Oklahoma, The Centre Daily Times in Pennsylvania, the Washington Times from WA DC, WBOC-16 in Salisbury, Maryland, the Idaho Statesman from Boise, WBRC-6 (Fox) in Alabama, KATV-7 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Reading Eagle in Reading, PA, the Tri-City Herald from the Tri-Cities, Washington, the York Dispatch from York, PA, LexGo from Lexington, Kentucky, Lancaster Online, the Pioneer Press from St. Paul, Minnesota, CBS-3 Springfield, Massachusetts, The Seattle Times!!, ... I could go on forever! Oh, and even something from Canada! The beginning of Hayley promotion in the US & Canada, perhaps? It would've been nice if they had said when her album is released in the US, but this is better than nothing.

Oh, and I just found a much longer, more detailed version on ABC.com! Maybe we should call the thread The Associated Press - Various American & Canadian Media Sources, or something like that. I'm happy to leave it with a publication from my state, too.

Hello Libby and Ross! This is a good article...perhaps the start of the publicity as you said Libby. Also I did modify the first thread to keep the name of the newspaper Looks like even some TV stations mentioned this Associated Press article... I hope lots other newspapers and online sources follow suit.

Wait, what?? What TV stations? National TV shows, or just local, PA stations? I noticed it was in quite a few PA news publications, so she might be more well-known there. Jackie Evancho likes her, and she's from PA. Yeah, it's clever of them to use the Christchurch earthquake as sort of an excuse to put her name out there. Unfortunately the earthquake isn't big news over here anymore, if it's even news at all. I don't even hear that much about the Japan earthquake anymore. Last night when I saw the ABC article, they just so happened to have an ad for Good Morning America on the side. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif And a smaller one farther down today. Probably just coincidence; I bet they advertise it all the time throughout their site, but you never know... ads often do relate to whatever's being discussed on on the internet... including the ads on this forum!

In fact.if you Google "Soprano Hayley Westenra worries about Christchurch" there are results from hundreds of media outlets that carried this story. Umm, how do you think I found all of this stuff? That's exactly what I did!

Hey, Ross is the one who found it in my paper first, so give him some credit! I wouldn't have started searching for it, if not for him. I'm curious to know how he found one from a paper in my area! How did you find it, Ross? Because when I did my search, the News Tribune was not the first one I found.

I cannot take the credit as it was first posted on the Hayley Online website and I saw it when they tweeted about it.
