I don't understand this tweet about Hamilton. Hi Jim, I guess , we will hear soon , about this. The only thing i can think of, that it was not sold out. (Claudelands arena has a seating capacity of 5000 seats) Joyce

That's a duplicate of the Aussie piece from last May. But very nice, yes.

Well, we shall have to wait and see. No early reports from last night, but NZ should be waking up in 3 hours or so. Keep watching.

Jillian posted a link to: But as it's a huge venue ( 5,000 seats? ) it would be hard to fill, but it could still have had the highest ticket sales (up to November 3rd). Its capacity is about as big as the Royal Albert Hall in London and I don't think Hayley would risk booking that, for a solo concert! Cheers, Dave

I didn't find one small picture from last night from a sound guy... twitter.com/?photo_id=1#!/dylan_sheehan/status/136361086483054592/photo/1 ...which I thought her UK team was handling the sound, Maybe not?

Hi Dave and everyone. I haven't checked all the venues but several hold only 3,000, so if Hamilton was only half full it would count as a full house elsewhere. The auditorium does sound to be extraordinarily over-size for its area, hence the reason it is in serious financial difficulty. What else is available there I don't know but presumably smaller than 3,000, so it was both a courageous venue to take on and possibly the only reasonable one in which to launch her tour.

The sound engeneer (17 years old )is from Auckland and working for an event company called Van Gent Productions. Joyce

Hi Peter, another factor is NZ towns being relatively evenly spaced & therefore allowing people to choose another venue should their local one be sold out. [Cook Strait is, of course, a barrier to that.] Graeme

Hi - We should have taken up a collection and sent Grant and Karsten to New Zealand for this tour! Bob S Oi! 'ang on a mo! I make an effort to report too!! It is however a salutary experience for us Brits to understand how desperate the Kiwis have been to have our reports. I don't think I have felt so detached from Hayley than I am feeling at the moment. Peter S.

Well, guys, we get used to this in China, everything goes silent when she is there. We almost rely on Hayley alone to tell us what happened. I would hope for more from NZ. You could have sent me or Drew to, and had videos... But don't go off half cocked, there is still time. Can sombody at least post a report. What did she sing? What was it like. Was it sold out or not? And I'm sure our fashionistas (in the nicest possible sense) would like to know what she wore.

Of course Martin, it is possible they are deliberately teasing us and will then flood us and keep us busy beyond the next concert report! As long as it is not the next concert tour! And let's be fair. They are probably working too so this is still morning to them and most often we don't report until the evening, although we do (usually Grant) manage to dash off a paragraph before we go to bed the same night as the concert! Ah well. The Rieu CD has ended, beautifully with our Hayley's "Dreaming of New Zealand". Beautiful rich tones but then as we said at the time, that voice can only mature and gain even greater richness and she is not yet anywhere near her peak, as far as physical development is concerned. God willing she'll have twenty years at least after that. I will be long gone but what a bowing out! Peter S

Yes, and Spiderman seems to have gone off HWI for some reason I don't know about. Jillian might not have internet access, I'd love to hear her impressions. All we can do is wait in hope....
