Hello everyone! My name is Alicia, and from Carolina USA. I am constantly playing music 24/7....its my passion to say the least. lol I listen to almost everything from country/bluegrass to classic rock to pop to show tunes to jazz/soul/Motown to opera. My faves are: Sarah Brightman, Stevie Nicks, Celine, Barbra Streisand, Blackmore's Night, Loreena McKennitt, Josh Groban, Joni Mitchell, and Terri Clark. I also like to read novels, attend concerts, and travel when possible. To be honest, I just found out about Hayley Westerna last night! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I was on another singer's forum when they mentioned Hayley's new album, and added a link to a promo video on UTube. I watched the video and liked it, then I proceed to click on another link and another link. haha Needless to say, 3 hours later I was still watching Hayley. So I have started down that exciting path in discovering her great voice and artistry. Anyways, I hope to hear from you ladies and gentlemen as you enlighten me on all things Hayley! May I ask now though since I have looked around....why does Hayley have soooo many versions? haha It's confusing, and makes this actually daunting to say the least. Take care, Alicia

Hi Alicia,
Welcome to the forum from one of it's newer members. I've been a member here for a couple weeks now, and I must say I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far. The people here are super nice, and it's just the perfect place to learn and talk about all things Hayley.
I'm SO glad you discovered Hayley's music. We need more Hayley fans here in the US. (I'm in San Diego, CA) It's always fun when you discover an artist, especially when they've already got quite an extensive catalog of great music to hear for the first time.
I noticed you mentioned Joni Mitchell as one of your favorite artists. She happens to be one of Hayley's favorites as well. In fact, Hayley has covered a couple of Joni's songs on two of her albums. 'Both Sides Now' on her album 'Odyssey', and 'River' on her holiday album 'Winter Magic'. If you haven't already, you should give them a listen. Hayley is one of those rare artists whose cover versions are almost always better than the originals.
I hope you enjoy this forum as much as I have, and look forward to reading more from you.
Regards,
Matt

Welcome to the forum, Alicia. I'm glad to see yet another Hayley fan in the USA. I think you will find that this forum is loaded with everything you would want to know about Hayley and there is little benefit of looking anywhere else. Many of her tweets even end up here.

Hi Alicia...welcome to the forum! I agree that there are SO many versions of the same-titled CD. Most of the time a UK release will have had more 'classic' songs in order to qualify the album for a classical chart. The USA version might have more of an Irish/Celtic persona. Japanese versions might have extra track or an existing song sung in Japanese. Hayley should be in the USA doing some promotional work for 'Paradiso' towards October Thanks for joining and I'm looking forward to your posts! ~ Joe

Thank you for welcoming me to the Forum Bill, Matt, Richard, and Joe!! And nice to meet each of you! @ Matt: This means that Hayley has good taste (or is it the other way around? lol). However, I will have to say that covering 2 of Joni's classics is a very tall order to beat in my opinion. But I will get them a listen though. @ Richard: I'll get on to it shortly! Thanks @ Bill: Nice to see someone from the Southeastern part of the States!!! Is there a lot of fans in this area? Or do I have to start campaigning? haha Joe: Ooohhh, I see now why they have numerous editions. Thanks! It looks like I became a fan just in time for the promo here in USA!!! I HOPE to hear about the promo here in the States (and maybe attend one of them?). We'll see. Take care, Alicia
