Postscript: Well said, EXACTLY my views, not that the theme bothers me, but it doesn't hurt to have a better one 
Libby: Again and again you people are doing this, time and again I said, it's stupid, silly, unreasonable to not join a forum because of it's colors. We know that, we are wise enough to realize the value of everything else. But you can't expect everyone else to think like you, to you the appearance might not mean anything, but to many it is like a deciding factor, before they know anything about the forums' function.
And again, it's not the color itself, but EVERYTHING else that is not going along with it, if you choose a color, the whole theme should revolve around a particular concept, composition, hence why it's called a "Theme". Putting in colors such as "RED" which is an exact contrast (adds up to gray) to cyan, is not a wise idea.
And this painted wall like texture, that is totally unnecessary, a mild gradient of a darker color, or lighter would project the content area better. Adding detail to the background is never a good idea.
"I wouldn't necessarily expect an "unofficial" fan forum to look as professional as one designed by a record company. But I personally think it looks just fine!"
Why would you want to sell ourselves short? It's really silly to say that, when getting a professional skin is very easy to make, and is not an impossible feat.
If find it amusing that, even though the skin isn't to judge any of the forums' worth and value, it is and important factor. Aesthetics are an important point for anything.
We maybe a good person at heart, that doesn't mean we don't dress ourselves neatly and be presentable (when we can), we'd like to be our best (possible).
Similarly, when we all (the staff mainly) are working so hard to run this forums this efficiently, I find, ignoring to make the theme better is surprising.
(Dave(and admins) I still agree with you, I don't want this now either, and want you guys to concentrate on other stuff, I'm only responding to people who think a new skin is not needed.)

That was only a suggestion, I realized you guys were right about it already. We needn't do it it to match the official site.

But the thing is, as simple as the official forums is, it follows a "SET THEME" All colors go greatly with each other, none's too contrasting. All Headers stand out clearly. A neat gradient for the banner, and a dark black background to project the content.
It is visually pleasing and doesn't look amateur. (Not saying it's the best or anything)
That is all :/ You guys can close this topic and reopen it later when things are freed up, I really don't want to start an argument/discussion at the wrong time...but I find myself justified in anything anyone says here in this thread...
