In particular, the Phantom of the Opera videos where Hayley is heard (but not seen) singing Dark Waltz. Many of the comments are of the discovery variety, e.g., “who is the singer?” People are blown away by the dramatic effect that Hayley’s voice can deliver. And this is without even seeing her, which is a double sensory experience. It is so true! I read somewhere that some people actually thought that she had sang in the Phantom of the Opera. Someone had asked "who is Hayley Westenra ?". And another one replied : "She sang The Dark Waltz in the Phantom of the Opera". Youtube can seriously mislead people sometimes. But it's also a phenomenal tool of communication - as people can watch videos, like them and pursue their search. I know that many watched Celtic Woman videos before discovering Hayley on Youtube.

It is truly a phenomenal tool as you say Stephany. However, knowing something about copyright law, I believe it is in for some tough slogging ahead. Recall what happened with Napster, and then consider the recent meltdown with Viacom. If a year or two from now Youtube looks and works much as it does today, I will be very surprised. I do think Hayley benefits from this kind of exposure with viewers who’ve never even heard of her. Many of the positive comments seem to come from Americans, and that is a very good sign indeed.

Copyright issue will remain no matter what, I agree with you on that, socalboy. But in Hayley's case, it's clearly positive for the moment as people can discover a little about her songs.
Back to topic - I love when they talk about "The Westenras" and the possibility of teaming as a band. She must be very proud of her siblings!

It reminds me off the TV show "The Brady Bunch". They were a large family, and the kids (6 of them) formed a band as well. They stunk, but it was funny nonetheless!! Russ
