Hi everyone, Music Week is this week carrying a four page spread with an article entitled Westenra's Way To Paradise, it includes a profile of Hayley and her ten years as a professional recording artist, and new details about Paradiso and her future plans. Here is a taste of what's new in the article: - Hayley has worked on Maori, French, Japanese and Italian versions of the album
- Paradiso will also be promoted in continental Europe, including Germany, France and Scandinavia
- Hayley will be the 'voice' of ITV's Rugby World Cup coverage in the UK starting in September
- World In Union, the theme song of the Rugby World Cup, has been recorded in Maori and English by Hayley, for ITV
- As part of a World tour, Hayley will hold a 'Quake Aid' charity concert in November in support of the Christchurch Earthquake
You can read the complete Music Week article on the HWI website (with bigger scans than below and a big Hayley photo): Westenra's Way To Paradiseor see below for slightly smaller scans of the article's text. To discuss Hayley's involvement in the Rugby World Cup and with ITV, please see the separate thread entitled: Rugby World Cup: Hayley is the voice of ITV!

An interesting comment from Decca president Dickon Stainer:
I couldn't agree more.

Well, now the UK release date for Paradiso is starting to make sense...
It looks like they have got the publicity properly sorted this time. Well done everbody - I can now believe that Paradiso could even outsell Pure...

Well done everbody - I can now believe that Paradiso could even outsell Pure... Martin D Ever the optimist, Martin D! With the collapse in Worldwide and UK CD sales since Pure (UK sales 770,000+), I suspect Decca will be delighted to beat Treasure (80,000), and even happier if they can get a Gold disc for Hayley (100,000). That would be a real achievement for a classical crossover album in this day and age so fingers crossed! Cheers, Dave

This is all very exciting! I'm very disappointed there's no mention of her doing any promotions in the U.S. I assume that means there won't be any, because if there were, you'd think it would be important enough to mention. Couldn't she even just appear on one little show, like GMA? In the pic of Prince William, to me it almost looks like Mr. Westenra is sizing him up! One mistake in the article: they called Hayley's book, Hayley Westenra - In Her Own Words, instead of In Her Own Voice. Oh, well, not the most important item in the article, so I guess we can let that slide. I'm a little uncertain about the different versions of Paradiso. An Italian version? Most of it already is in Italian. So, is she going to sing all the other songs in Italian? Amalia Por Amor in a bunch of different languages? I don't know about all this. I won't buy them, though (I'm leaving that to Joyce i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif). To me, it seems like it'll take away from the main release. Oh well. I hope it's successful, despite my misgivings.

Hi Libby, I can't say much because I don't know much and nothing's been finalised, but I understand they intend to fit in some US promotion for Hayley even if it means changing the US release date (bringing it forward). I don't know if that would involve any TV appearances though. So watch this space and keep your fingers crossed! Cheers, Dave

There was a reason for the delyed UK release date, and I'm sure there will be a reason for the delayed US date too. Don't be so pessimistic Libby - there is something planned I'm sure. It won't be the Rugby thing though, Americans have their own version of that game. It may be the US release is tied in with someting happeneing over there at round about that date that Hayley is involved with.
It is interesting that the US release happens about the time when the Rugby World Cup ends. Presumably before that she will be busy with whatever she is doing for ITV.
I'm sure Bandana have their heads screwed on. And nearer the time we will find out what is planned for the USA.

Oh good, thanks Dave. You are most reassuring. But, if there weren't any TV appearances, what would this promotion entail? Just a few articles for New York? Because that won't do much good. New York is only 1 out of 50 states, so if they want real promotion for her, it's going to have to be something that everyone in the nation can see. Such as Good Morning America. And I'm still holding onto the hope that the world tour they mention will eventually include the US. At least a few concerts, anyway. When she came here with Il Divo, she was featured in a local paper here, so they might do the same thing again... if she does come. Martin, I am aware of what sports are popular in this country, since I do live here.

I agree Libby about the TV thing, but I don't have any information about that, just that the date is likely to be brought forward so she can go there.

There you go depressing me again. Do you have evidence to back that up? Or is it just your pessimism speaking? Last year, someone on twitter asked Hayley if she'd be coming to California. She said "hopefully next year". Of course I realize that might not really come true, but I think the fact she said that means it's in the plans somehow or another. I'm hoping that it means CA might be part of the tour. I'm hoping she'll come to Seattle, too, but if she doesn't, I'd certainly be willing to see her in CA, if need be. And/or Canada, but if she comes to the US, anywhere near me, I have to go and support her!
