I was stunned by the awesomeness of the performance that I didn't make a mention about a few really awesome "dream come true" stuff XD.....
For those who went through my rant about Hayley trying to express things more than before trying to bring out the emotion.....well I was so, SO Immensely HAPPY to see her perform Pie Jesu, I mean she performed so beautifully like the Hayley I knew of, it almost brought me to tears to see her face when she said the last high note "Raaaa...queeee.eeem" She didn't keep her face all sad or anything, she didn't close eyes, didn't raise eyebrows, but something about that face conveyed the perfect emotion. This is what I had been saying, she already has this in her, she doesn't have to bring it out. I wasn't really happy with her first live La Califfa performance as far as expressions are concerned, I really hope she sings it like this (I'm sure she will) in the future performances, I can feel the melancholy, sadness and the "DEEPEST" emotion when she sings like this. And this song made my day....I think it'd make the whole month for me XD. Her solemn face can speak so much, I don't know anyone else who can do this, honestly no one. And I really hope she sticks to this and use the gift that not many has (as far as the more emotional/sad songs are concerned)
And the second is, Hayley looked ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! AMAZING make up, so beautiful, she looked so young and beautiful like how she was years back XD....If only she goes back to the Straight silky hair style....that's the next dream to come true XD

Hello folks! I'll quote two very interesting comments made by 'chonesong' on our YouTube video of 'Pie Jesu' yesterday: Richard

Hi all,
Great report Steven, you mentioned everything that needed reporting.
I didn't take many Pix (Hayleywowed again) and what I have Steven also shot.
I did tell Hayley that I love her PARADISO CD and she replied something like, "Thanks that's so good to hear."
I MUST report that Steven has an impressive voice, having heard him sing along with Daniel Rodriquez, God Bless America, Lustily !
So a great weekend, hot weather but no storms and wonderful that Hayley took time to visit a bit ( she's sweet and thoughtful as ever).
I think there will be a promotional tour or appearances in OCT.- NOV. for the U.S. release of PARADISO, and remember Hayley goes out of her way to meet her fans............

Thanks again for sharing your photos, Steve! Brian Lane looks kind of stern. Actually, his expression seems to say "Didn't they get enough pictures before?" i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe Capitol Police officer looks less fierce than he does! In the one that says "all performers at the end", what are they singing? How come it wasn't on TV?

I thought she just said "maybe", when you asked if she would be coming. Maybe doesn't sound very promising to me.

At the end everyone sang "America the Beautiful" which might or might not have been cut from the broadcast for reasons of time. Hayley appeared unsure as to whether she should join in Saturday night, but did join in on Sunday.

Hi Dave
Many thanks for the fabulous screen caps! I love them all but the last one just blows me away - such emotion - that's got to be one of the "Best ever" pictures of Hayley.
Best wishes Grant

They only showed Yolanda Adams starting to sing it, and I heard people starting to join in before they cut it off, but I never saw whether it was the other singers or just the audience. Maybe Hayley wasn't sure of the words at first, but then later on she remembered them well enough to join in.

Very beautiful and emotional performance by Hayley. I'm pretty much speechless. Hayley's performance of 'Pie Jesu' was a perfect finish to the very emotional story of a young woman's quest to learn about her father who was killed in Vietnam . Then to follow her performance with the lone bugle playing taps was very powerful. In my opinion, Hayley had the most difficult part of the concert to perform and she was outstanding. As an aside, I found it interesting that the orchestra played Gabrlel's Oboe during the Vietnam story segment just before Hayley sang. BillR Hello Bill and everyone, Inspired by the above words, and encouraged by TimJ who offered to post me his RAM-disc of the entire concert, I set about finding a good recording of the entire concert on the Internet (Usenet) and now, I have it. In HD. I am very glad that I did this (thank you Bill and Tim) for it is only by watching the entire 19 minute "Vietnam" segment that you can fully appreciate Hayley's contribution in its proper context. Therefore, I have extracted and uploaded this very moving segment of the concert - culminating in Hayley's performance followed by the lone bugler. For anyone who is interested, it can now be found on the National Memorial Day page on the HWI website. I may be an old sentimentalist but I cannot recommend watching this video highly enough. The people involved are: Michelle Baugh, daughter of Richard Githens who died in Vietnam when she was a baby, and his fellow soldier and friend Chuck Gregoire. Their moving story is told by Gary Sinese and actress AJ Cook and as you will have seen, Michelle has already tweeted her thanks to Hayley for her part in this tribute. National Memorial Day Concert 2011 (Vietnam segment) 19 minute videoIf your connection is less than 1 mbps, you may have to pause the video sometimes to let it catch up. Cheers, Dave

Thanks for the video, Dave.
I wondered if that was Michelle Baugh who was getting very emotional during Hayley's performance. Now we know the full story behind her tears, and I'm sure Hayley was feeling for her too.
Best wishes,
Richard
