I'm surprised there's no thread already for the beautiful and talented, Katie Melua.
Her European tour is currently going on, after it was postponed last year. The UK leg of the tour starts next week.
Any Katie fans on the forum?

I was a fan but I'm not so sure anymore...i've her first albums and her latest..i'm not sure about some of the songs..such as I'd love to kill you with a kiss..it's a bit extreme i think haha..I love her duet of Wonderful World with Eva Cassidy and the song she wrote in tribute to her, FarAway Voice. I would like to go and see her in concert one day though..if she still sings her older songs. Sing

Faraway Voice is a beautiful song though. Her latest album is a bit darker than previous ones, but I think its fantastic. She worked with William Orbit on 'The House', who helped relaunch Madonna's career, with Ray Of Light. I recently saw Katie live on her UK tour. I would rate her performance on a par with Hayley's. I thought nobody could match Hayley, but Katie has. So talented and a great voice. Fantastic performer. This tour, named 'The House', the same as the CD, was postponed from late 2010. As you would expect, she sang most of the tracks from it. But, as far as I can remember, she sang about 10 tracks from her first three albums. So there was a nice mix of old and new. I met Katie afterwards for a brief moment, and got a couple of things signed. She was very friendly and down to earth. This was my first time at one of Katie's concerts. It certainly won't be the last. She was fantastic.

I discovered Katie's music at the same time I discovered Hayley's. My favorite song of hers is Spider's Web. "The piano keys are black and white, but they sound like a million colors in your mind." Also I really love her hauntingly emotional live cover of Blowin' in the Wind. I haven't kept up with her recent music, though.
