Sorry to hear they weren't signed, Paulo and Joyce. The most likely reason is that the signed copies were all sent to Jersey ( Indigostarfish.com), from where the UK Amazon orders would be posted (to avoid VAT/duty). CDs posted from there can only be sent to the UK, so your orders were probably handled by Amazon themselves, who may not have had any signed CDs in their warehouse. But of course the signed copies in Jersey may all be sold anyway (by now). Cheers, Dave

Hi, I've ordered from Amazon UK, but the cd was send from Amazon.de (Germany) so it wasn't signed Greetz Joyce Hi Joyce and Paulo, Same disappointment here. I was wondering why it was written Amazon.de. There is the explanation... I would never have thought such a thing could happen... I wasn't expecting to have it signed because I'm never lucky But to find out it is because it wasn't sent from the "right" Amazon increases the disappointment... Anyway, as long as it helps increasing Hayley's sales in the UK, that's fine for me. But I hope it still counts for the UK even if it was sent from Germany, does it? As for the autograph, I'll have to wait until I can bring my own copy to Hayley! Lots of love, Juliette x

Hi Juliette, I didn't realise that it would work like that for Paradiso "exports", otherwise I would have said something earlier. The posts from Joyce and Paulo, now yourself, made me think about it so that's when I realised. Sorry! Exports may not count towards the weekly charts, but I am not 100% sure about that. However, because Amazon had them in stock, they will definitely have counted towards any certification/awards that Paradiso could qualify for: Silver (60,000 copies) or Gold (100,000). And your orders will make Amazon re-order new stocks sooner - they all help! Meanwhile, on Sky News this morning at 9 am I saw my first advert for Paradiso and recorded it. I'd imagine that it was planned before Hayley's appearance there was delayed until tomorrow but anyway, you can see it here on the HWI promotion videos page (should play automatically): Paradiso Advert (Sainsburys version)Cheers, Dave

Hi Grant, So now we know. I would have agreed until "I heard I knew I Loved You" live with James. That is now my favourite but not the album version.

Hi Joyce, Juliette and Dave, Sad to hear your copies are not signed either! My copy of Paradiso came from the UK. Thanks for the explanation Dave, it's good to know that every copy sold helps Hayley climb the charts! Best wishes, Paulo Correia

Hi Grant, So now we know. I would have agreed until "I heard I knew I Loved You" live with James. That is now my favourite but not the album version. That's uncannily close to the results of out Pradiso favourite tracks poll. I tweeted the list of top tracks in our poll to Hayley, realising that she probably can't see the results herself without voting. She s probably asking for a reason, so hopfully that information will be useful to her. Martin D

Maybe Hayley was surprised too and so wants a wider sample of opinion? Cheers, Dave

Hi Everyone.
Well. I have received my Paradiso, later than I should have received it, according to other reports, perhaps due to Royal Mail’s rejigging the entire outer north London distribution system.
Yes, I still did not play it until I was ready and lay and listened as if it was a concert, to give it my full, concentrated attention. The result? Well, when there is much to say, often a few words carefully chosen expresses most.
For most of us, excepting almost the entire population of New Zealand, Pure was our first encounter. None of us could have known precisely what we would later hear in terms of tonal values and interpretation. We did know we were hearing someone very special and knew that this was a young girl making her musical ‘hello’ to the world. Paradiso is Pure again, ten years on.
Paradiso is no schoolgirl unselfconsciously expressing herself simply as she is but that unselfconsciousness remains part of the whole. This is the maturing young woman. This is the sturdy tree from which those first petals were blown upon the gentle breeze of Pure. This is the voice of experience from which an inner depth of understanding and emotion has formed most beauteously. This is the voice of experience, not crying with hurt, although it understands hurt but has come through that challenge enriched, deriving a deeper compassion and love but perhaps most of all a sureness of step, with the vibrancy of perceptive youth, beginning to understand and experience Life’s realities, while still holding on to the ideal dream in all its golden beauty.
Do I have a favourite track? No! I have but one choice—the collective whole. This is not a singer’s album. This is a creative whole in which no singer could sing as soloist, not even Hayley. Every constituent part has its place. This is a melding of beauty and mastery of superb accomplishment, which is a cohesive whole and for any other voice to ape it, that voice would be discordant. Paradiso is a marriage of musical genius made in heaven.
In terms of favourites, these can only be defined according to the particular moment and in my case now, probably entirely due to the tune and harmony rather than aspects of technicality and golden subtlety. Superbly balanced this is a CD of diversity and range, so for now, I would say, simply as there has been discussion on this and in something of the order of my current particular enjoyment: Whispers in a Dream Deborah’s theme, I knew I loved you The Edge of love Once Upon A Time in the West Amalia Por Amor Malena
Regarding typography design and packaging, this album is as the best always is, simple and to the point, a classical statement simply saying, “Here we are”. It is all that is needed.
