Health Warning: do not rely on any information posted in this thread unless you check it out yourself! For the benefit of anyone from the UK who is considering ordering this album from NZ, I believe the total cost is likely to be as below, from Marbecks. This is made up of: NZ$ 26.99 album 11.00 airmail ------- 37.99 - 3.52 (less NZ sales tax on the CD @ 15%) ------- NZ$34.47 total cost on shipment @ 2.1 approximate exchange rate NZ$/£ sterling -------- UK£16.41 + 0.45 credit card handling fee (2.75% Barclaycard Visa, others may vary) --------- £16.86 approximately (exchange rates will alter and Customs use a different though similar rate) - so duty/VAT free ========= Currently, this will be free of UK VAT as it's under £18 and it is also duty free, which has a much higher limit. So not bad a deal, if you ask me. Better than importing from Japan! Anyone feel free to check this (believe it at your own risk!!!) and anyone who understands how importing CDs works in other Countries, feel free to post the details. Useful links for the UK: www.ukimports.org/uk_customs_basic_import_advice.htmlwww.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/post/buying.htmCheers, Dave

I'm in Fort Worth, TX, USA and I just ordered my copy. My total cost was $33.74 - $10 for shipping and handling. I'm not sure what GST is but I seem to have received a discount of $3.52, possibly a discount for pre-ordering? (On the invoice it says "less GST - $3.52). I ordered mine from Marbecks.

Thanks for that information, it shows that the deduction of 15% NZ GST is based only on the CD price and not the shipping cost, so I will alter my figures in the post above yours. I suspect that any added US import duty or tax on imported CDs varies between states in the US, if it exists at all! Dave

In my experience in importing CDs, which has been from the UK and Germany, I have never had to pay any import or duty taxes--just the cost of the CD and shipping and handling. Additionally, different states in the US don't add taxes for online orders unless the retailer has an actual in-store location in that state. I think I might import this CD--I'm impatient.

Hi, I will be preordering soon, probably later today. I only checked the shipping price for Amplifier, as it seems to be the only one that shows you the shipping price without having to register. The Air Mail to Spain will cost 9,91 NZD + 24,30 NZD for the album makes 34,21 NZD... Which, converting with Google, appears to be 18,51€.

I just ordered it from Marbecks as well, and the cost was $33.47 nzd. I'll have to wait until it's charged to my bank account to see exactly how much it cost in usd, but according to google it should be $25.93 usd. That's not bad, although it'll probably only cost about $13.99 when it actually comes out in the US. Impatience costs money. Oh, and I live near Chicago, Illinois, as my screen name suggests.

Hi Dave and everyone I ordered two copies from Marbecks this morning at the following cost: SubTotal: $ 53.98 less GST: $ 7.04 Shipping & Handling: $ 13.75 Total: $ 60.69 Which works out at £14.46 each - haven't checked but I'm guessing the difference is accounted for by reduced shipping costs for two CD's Anyway, I'm very happy to now have this CD on order! Roll on 18th April!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

I could be wrong, but it might be safer to have them shipped separately, even though possibly a bit more costly. Just a thought. Cheers, Dave

Import VAT of 20% will be charged on imports of more than £18 value from NZ. Also Royal Mail will sting you with a "handling charge" of £8. This is why I will make two separate orders. I am sure in the current economic climate that HMRC will be out to collect every penny! Cheers Tony

I was livid when they did that to me a while back, with a Japanese CD. It changes the economics of importing CDs to the UK and could make it cheaper to order them one at a time, and to make sure the online store understands that they must not automatically bundle them together. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave and Tony
Thanks for the heads up - I had forgotten about the Japanese CD import fiasco, although I must admit I though it refered to the item value not the total order value.
Anyway, I can't see how to cancel an order on Marbecks so have emailed them.
Thanks again Grant

Hello everyone Smokecd are offering "Paradiso" on Ebay for NZ$24.99 + NZ$3.00 for international postage. Interestingly there is no indication that this is for pre order and the sale indicates "more than 10 available"! ParadisoAny takers? Best wishes Grant

The price on the link you gave is in $US and when you work it all out, it's currently cheaper to import (to the UK) from Marbecks (who aren't the cheapest but there isn't much in it). All that EBay seller has done is shift the mailing cost onto the CD price to make the shipping look cheaper (or perhaps it's literally shipped i.e. by ship? ) Anyway, I would prefer us to stick with recognised established online sellers rather than EBay. Cheers, Dave
