Hi socalboy, Thank you for the definition of "spell". I now see that definition in the Concise Oxford but it is prefaced with the words "chiefly N. Amer". Phew, that let's me off! And I love the idea of an HWI concert. I'd fly across the pond in a heartbeat. I'd make that an aeroplane if I were you. It's safer! Roger

Hello Stephany! Many thanks for posting the entry from Hayley's MySpace. It sounds as though she's feeling better now and looking forward to her tour with Celtic Woman, so I'm sure we're all relieved about that. I also assumed that you were an English girl living in France, so thanks for putting us all straight there. You are a real credit to your English teacher and a great asset to the Forum. Hayley will definitely be spelling in the USA. Her appearances with Celtic Woman will be magic!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Hi everyone Thanks for finding this article Stephany. I knew that Hayley would absolutely have hated to cancel the Cardiff concert. Hayley, if you read this, please don't feel bad, everyone understands that you can't help being ill . Hopefully you are feeling much better now Just to move off topic for a moment, I must also say Stephany that I was convinced you were an English girl too. Very well done for your fantastic English. I am sure all of us at HWI are only too pleased for you to continue to "practice" your English on the forum Best wishes Mark.

Hi Stephany, I, too, always assumed that English was your native language. I saw in your profile that you're living in Paris, but I didn't think you were French. Firstly because of the way your name is spelled (in French it would be Stéphanie, I think) and secondly because in my experience, most French people do not speak (and write) English as well as you do. No offense! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnyway... I'm not a native speaker of English either, so you're not alone! Oh, and if anyone here should be having trouble understanding MY English, I apologize as well! Jeroen

Hi Stephany
Another great find! and a very interesting read. Nice also to see an apology about the cancellation of the Cardiff concert, but I agree with Mark; she would have been very upset and I suspect quite a job for her management to persuade her against doing it.
My congratulations too for your superb command of English, like everyone else I had wrongly assumed you were English!
And halfway to being a Senior Member as well!!
Grant

Hi socalboy, No, Cloud 9 is a familiar means of transport throughout much of the English speaking world. Roger

... at some point, I asked myself if there was any competition between them. Apparently not ! ... I wondered about that myself. Both Hayley and Chloe had albums called "Walking In The Air" and Meav sang "https://i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifanny Boy" on CW:ANJ which Hayley could just as easily have done. But it's great they all mix well. And best of all, there's no better duetting partner for Hayley than Meav, hands down. We were talking about possible competition between the group members. Look at the girls' answer to that : [/i][/quote] To read the full interview, click here.

Hayley's myspace has been updated with the 20 questions chosen that will be answered by Hayley in the next few weeks. The questions are the following. They picked two of my questions but unfortunately I didn't win the album. You'll see, I'll probably end up buying it.

I've asked Hayley myself but she and Steve wouldn't give a direct answer! I wondered if the price is simply too high - Andrea Bocelli will be one expensive piece of merchandise! But I wonder whose question that one is? Cheers, Dave

She sang it with Boccelli during an ice skating competition and I believe it was the very first time I heard "Vivo Per Lei" with English lyrics. Obviously I wouldn't mind if they recorded it. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
