Dunno what I'll be letting myself in for if I sign up. How much work is involved in setting up on Facebook? And keeping up - my daughter seems to spend hours!!!

Even though I come to this forum on my own anyway, I "liked" it so I can share any of the news/updates with my other friends on Facebook if I want to.

How do you get friends? They offer me all sortsd of things if I let then at my email account. But that won't help. Twitter would be a better bet in my case.
I just don't get Facebook at the moment.

Why is it that when I try to navigate around Facebook, all I get is an hourglass?
And now it is asking me all sorts of stuff about my mobile phone!!
None of their d..n business.
Can't get my brain round it at all.
I am not impressed! I don't think I'm going to like it.

Hello Martin D, You can turn off nearly everything on your Facebook account, so that it's hard for people to find you and all that remains is your name and profile picture (if any). I have done that, for the moment, for my personal FB account. For people who visit the forum or website every day, and check everything, there will not be much if any advantage in visiting our Facebook account as we are unlikely to ever post any exclusives there and will normally post stuff there shortly after the forum and website. It will, however, be useful for some members who "Like" our FB Page and who use Facebook every day as they will be informed of any important information automatically on their newsfeed. But if you want to discuss general Facebook issues about your personal/proposed account there, feel free to start a thread in the Technical Support board (rather than this thread) and I'm sure someone will come to your aid. Thats what I hoped. God forbid I would have to join Bookface to get Hayley updates!

Thanks Dave,
I seemed to have managed to arrange newsfeed from the HWI account. I'd like to do that from Hayley's page too, but not sure how.
Thanks anyway.

Martin, to get friends, you might have to do a search, and when you get to their profile page, click the Friend Request button, and then they can approve you as a friend. And some other people who know you can request you as a friend too. I can be your first friend if you want. Bookface! Now, that's a good one! :rollin

Steve, he's a guy from China who goes by a number of different usernames, but I know all of them. He even went to Hayley's Shanghai concert last year, and got his Winter Magic signed. He told us all about it on the official forum. It was really a nice review, too. Really, he means no harm whatsoever, despite all his names, and the fact that he's no longer allowed on this forum... a-HEM.
