Hi everyone I thought you may be interested to read the article about Hayley in the programme for the Christmas Presence concerts. There are a good few snippets of information that I didn't know about Hayley. I hope you can read the scans. The first one is the front cover of the programme ! They do appear to be quite difficult to read. Any chance you could come to the rescue Richard or Dave ?. I just can not remember how to make scans clearer to read !! I just wish that whoever put the article together could have found some more up to date photo's of Hayley. The ones used must be at least 3 years old. I actually heard one member of the audience comment that "she looks nothing like the girl in the programme". If you can read it - enjoy. Best regards Mark

I think it is great that Hayley's introduction is put at the first few pages in it. It shows Hayley is very important. I agree that the picture is a little bit old. They are from Pure. I think people comments that "she looks nothing like the girl in the programme" because Hayley now has blonde hair, but in the photo, Hayley's hair is black because of special effects. Raymond

Hello Mark! I've been playing with your scans, and they are slightly easier to read if I increase the width and height by 50%. Try turning the screen brightness and contrast right down. Is there any possibility that you could produce larger scans? If so, I could link them from your smaller ones. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Richard
I will try to rescan larger. Assuming that I am able to do this, do I post the rescans again as a reply ?
Thanks for your help by the way, it is always very much appreciated.
Best regards Mark

Hello again Mark! If you make a new reply with links to the larger scans (without image tags), I can then edit in the smaller scans and make them clickable. At least it's worth a try! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hello Mark and Richard, Yes Mark, the problem is the size of your images. In order for small print to be readable, your scans need to be exactly (and no more than) 800 pixels wide, after cropping out (if you can) the wide margins from your original scans. Your original scans are probably much larger than this and what I usually do for text scans (in this order) is to first open the original scanned image in my image software, then crop out the margins, then resize the resulting image to exactly 800 pixels wide. Finally, experiment with different jpeg compression levels to get the file size down as small as possible - we don't want 500KB images posting! You should be able to get a good scan of an A4 page of text down to 150KB or less and it should be clearly readable. By the way, there is a general "Christmas Presence" thread in the concerts board here which, to avoid duplication, is I think the best place for these scans. It's your choice... but if you wish to re-do the scans and they are clearer, why not re-post them in there, so all the Christmas presence stuff is together? We would then decide what to do about this thread... And if Richard then looks at the result and thinks it needs some more tag wizardry, he can tag away! Cheers, Dave PS If you get stuck with resizing the images let me know as I could post scans from my own copy of the programme - but if you're anything like me, you may well be determined to finish it yourself!

Hi Dave & Richard
Thanks for the tips. I have managed to enhance the images, crop and ensure that each is not larger than 500kb !! I have reposted in the Christmas Presence thread as you suggested. The scans look good now, at least I can easily read them. Perhaps you may want to remove this thread now to tidy things up !
Thanks again
Regards Mark.

Hello Mark! I'm going to lock this thread now you've reposted the scans. Any further discussion can continue from HERE. Incidentally, the scan of the brochure's front cover has disappeared, so could you repost it in the other thread, please? Many thanks, Richard
