This was posted on one of the other Hayley forums. Didn't see it here so I thought I'd bring it over. According to a NYC tourist website, Hayley Westenra will be making an appearance November 25th, 2010 in New York City, NY for the 2010 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Here's the link: www.nyctourist.com/macys_news_lineup.htmHowever the actual website for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade doesn't have her listed as part of the line-up (as of now): social.macys.com/parade2010/?cm_mmc=VanityUrl-_-parade-_-n-_-n(click on Parade Information on the top right followed by Line Up) If this is true then.....I'm thinking it wouldn't be appropriate to ditch my family on Thanksgiving to go see one of my favorite artists . Especially since it wouldn't be one of her actual concerts.

Hello Roman, We will try and get this appearance confirmed. That NYC tourist site mentioned Hayley this way...(alphabetically last)..."US Olympic Athletes: Deborah Voigt, Hayley Westenra" Why would Hayley appear with American atheletes, and with opera dramatic soprano Deborah Voigt ? Nothing on Deborah's site mentions the parade, and Hayley is not mentioned on the Macy's parade site yet. But fingers crossed BTW, Hayley appeared in the 2004 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade ~Joe

She'll need to practice her lip-synching (miming) like everybody else in the show. My guess is she'll "sing" a tune from West Side Story, which makes sense because this storied parade begins on the west side.

Someone who would have no idea who Hayley or Deborah were would have interpreted that as those 2 ladies being Olympic Athletes.

Something you all failed to notice is that the NYC tourist site says "THE LINEUP... IN YEARS PAST Before that, I saw the group 98 degrees listed. I don't think they've been popular for quite some time, so right when I saw them, my hopes immediately started to diminish. I see no date anywhere, so I'm a little confused how you know it's for this year. I don't think it is. However, it does list Andrea Bocelli on both sites, but I imagine he's been on before. His website does not list this event under his tour dates. The only other similarity between these lists is Sesame Street & the Muppets. Is there ever a parade without Sesame Street characters? They're there almost everytime, if not everytime. The Macy's parade site does say they're still making last-minute changes, and that the final list will be up shortly. But I'm not optimistic. How can I be? It's just too good to be true, and too much evidence against it. I saw Howard's message, and nearly fainted and jumped for joy at the same time, only to be disappointed once again.

Hello Libby and everybody! I saw that article on Hayley's official forum too. Looking closely, there is a question mark to indicate "in years past", but there isn't a question mark against Hayley. Perhaps Dave can ask next time he emails Bedlam Management. Richard

For what ist worth it appears that Voight also appeared in the Macy parade in 2004. "She was in the Macy's parade singing on the Statue of Liberty float and she still looked most definately like a BBW." That post is dated Nov, 27, 2004 www.bigfatblog.com/node/843

Looking closely, there is a question mark to indicate "in years past", but there isn't a question mark against Hayley. What do you mean by that? No, I'm pretty sure this is all false hope. I don't see why she would do it at this point anyway. In 2004, she'd just released Pure in the U.S. As of now, the most recent album released here is Winter Magic. I suppose it's possible she would sing a song from that. But it would've made more sense if her new album was out then, but it won't be. It just doesn't seem to make sense right now unless she has something her management feels she needs to promote here. I suppose she could sing a new song from her upcoming album, but still, why would they bother with the U.S. for that? It would be nice if she could promote WM here, but if there wasn't much done for it in the UK last year, why would they bother over here? I'll be interested to see what Bedlam says, but I won't be at all surprised if they say she's not doing it this year.

Hi Libby and all, I have to write to Bedlam on Monday (twice!) so I'll ask. I too expect the answer to be "no" but I'll ask and we shall see. Dave

Hello Libby! I can't copy the symbol, but look closely at the first paragraph here: www.nyctourist.com/macys_news_lineup.htmThere's a question mark in a black diamond where it says "IN YEARS PAST". I doubt if Hayley will be in this year's parade. Richard

Hi Richard, I am sure you are right, it does specifically say "in years past", I just wish they'd made it clearer. Hayley's "live performances" agent at Bedlam Management is unaware of anything happening on the 2010 parade date (November 25th) and also thinks Hayley's name appears there because of her 2004 appearance. Sorry folks but it isn't going to happen. Dave

She could always go as a spectator. It's one of the most spectacular parades in the world and people come from everywhere to watch it up close.

Since it's not happening, is there any point of keeping the thread here to mislead and disappoint people?

hey my high school band was in the parade in 2006. Most of the floats, etc is final about 8 months before the parade. What they do in the parade has to be sent via video 3 months before the parade. To make sure its ok. If she is going to be in the parade we would know by now.
If she is in the parade, i kinda feel sorry for her. On parade day, everyone gets up at 4am.

Well, you don't need to feel sorry for her, 'cause it's not happening.
