Ian Tilley's latest project has just come to light. She is 12 year old choir girl, Isabel and she is mentored by Aled Jones. Her album will be out 22nd November, released from Decca. There's a video (which includes Ian) on the amazon page: www.amazon.co.uk/Choirgirl-Isabel/dp/B003ZUWCSA

I was impressed by what I saw on the Amazon video. I notice it is Faure's 'Pie Jesu' . I never cared very much for the ALW version . Definitely an album for serious consideration, and it will make good Granny present material too .

I don't believe that there is a thread about Isabel Suckling, but if there is, moderators feel free to move this. I stumbled across this marvelous girl the other day. She is only twelve, and sounds young, but her voice is very crystalline and steady. Decca just signed her after trying to find the most talented choirgirl in the UK. I believe her first album is due out the end of November. Here are a few links on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=t78H7svd1AYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=zso50q43ne0&feature=channelThis is an interview of her with Aled Jones, who is mentoring her, and she is actually duetting with his boy voice on her album: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsDzaZD3ABkLet me know what y'all think.

I saw Isabel perform live with Aled Jones tonight. I have to say I was impressed. Here is yet another young girl with a beautiful voice, which seems too good to be true for her age. She seemed a little nervous, but that didn't detract from her performance.
She even accompanied herself on piano, quite competently, for one song.
I didn't much like the recorded backing tracks she sang her other songs to, I found them distracting, but I enjoyed her singing. I think she is someone to watch.
