With a career that spanned 2 decades and saw the switch for amateur to professionalism, Jason Leonard was capped 114 times for England. Jason was also an influential member of the 2003 World Cup winning team and discusses the impact of hymn singing on the players. Now retired from the game, Jason has returned to his professional roots in construction. However he maintains strong links with rugby, sitting on the Rugby Football Union Council and as Honorary President (Essex) for the charity Wooden Spoon. As a charity firmly established in the home nations, Wooden Spoon has committed to over £13 million in spending to projects for children and young people.
David Chawner Rugby Coordinator for SCORE Chaplaincy
As chaplain to London Wasps for over 6 seasons, David Chawner has seen the positive impact of his work. Now as Rugby Coordinator for SCORE Chaplaincy, David is working to place chaplains in all rugby clubs and to support those already in place. SCORE also place chaplains in a wide range of other sporting organisations.
Euan Murray
In 2005 Euan Murray suffered a concussion whilst playing for Glasgow Warriors against Munster. As a result, Euan began to re-examine his life and turned once again to his faith. This year Euan will join his Scotland team mates as they take part in the 2007 World Cup. Winning his first international cap against Romania in 2005, Euan will this week prepare to meet The Oaks again at Murrayfield on 18/09/07
