Dear All, Hayley was briefly mentioned in an article discussing Dana, within 'The Huddersfield Daily Examiner' today. You might like to view this article hereDana: the voice of the people! Aug 30 2006
By The Huddersfield Daily Examiner HOW many politicians would you pay to hear sing? You would imagine the answer is practically none. Yet Huddersfield Methodist Choir hope to have found the exception for their Christmas concert this year. Last year they pulled off a huge coup by landing the fine young New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra for their Town Hall concert.
This year they hope to have solved the major problem of how to follow that by signing up a singer in her mid fifties who was herself a sensation in her teenage years. Today she is Mrs Dana Rosemary Scallon, but it was as plain Dana in 1970 that she recorded Ireland's first success in the Eurovision Song Contest with All Kinds Of Everything, a song written for her by Bill Martin.(The full article may be read at the link provided above). Regards, Andrew
