Where do I start?
Maybe I should start by saying I couldn't see half the show on Friday night because that's where my seats were. I don't mind though because I could close my eyes and really concentrate on the music.
The show was no different than the two previous times I had seen it on this tour (minus the Hayley-Meav factor). Friday night the girls seemed to lack energy, though they were still having fun. The highlights of Friday night's performance was Meav's Danny Boy, Orlagh's Carrickfergus, and Sing Out. I also enjoyed really listening to the musicians on stage - they love the music just as much as the main performers.
After the show on Friday I went to the Meet and Greet (thanks to an extra ticket supplied by a friend) where Chloe, Mairead and Lisa were there. We each got a picture to bring up to have signed.
Chloe was first and once she looked at my name she said "Oh! You're Caite [pause] Cocker right? You're the singer? Are you still singing?" We chatted for a minute about that...but the amazing thing is I didn't tell her I sang! (or my last name for that matter) Then came Mairead and Lisa who both remembered me from NYC.
Saturday night (after the signing) we went back to where we were staying, got ready and went to where the other part of the group was staying. We then got a limo from the hotel to the venue.
Kira and I in the limo.
The group outside of the limo (don't hit me Melissa...I think you look just fine)
Saturday night I had a better seat for the concert. I was fairly far back so I could see everything that went on on stage. - including this light that looked like someone was sitting crosslegged with a candle that caught my eye at least every song. There was definately more energy tonight. It became apparent as Mairead stepped out on stage! I wonder if the cake had anything to do with it....
I think I would compare this show with the one I saw in NYC. There were different higlights to this evening. I really enjoyed Granuaile's Dance by Mairead, Mo Ghile Mear, Newgrange and At the Ceili. All in all it was a wonderful performance.
After the show I walked around the building to the stage door to see what I could see and a lot of the cast were hanging around outside because it was a really nice night out.
What a wonderful, Celtic Woman filled weekend!
