Hello again folks! I've just looked in next week's Radio Times, and it would appear that next Sunday's 'Songs of Praise' is a brand new edition, not highlights from previous shows. Don't forget to set your video and DVD recorders. Sunday 27th August 2006, BBC1 TV, 5:40-6:15pm British Summer Time.Happy viewing! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Here is a preview of next week's Songs of Praise. www.lincolncathedralchoir.co.uk/overview.htmRichard, can we presume that it is part of last year's concert that it being reshown. I presume that Hayley is not popping back for church this Sunday?

Hello Drew! There is no mention of this programme being a repeat in Radio Times or on the BBC's website, and I doubt if they would repeat a Christmas edition in August. There is always the possibility that they recorded two programmes on the same day, or next Sunday's programme might have been recorded on another occasion. Best Wishes, Richard

Thanks for that fact sheet Richard, oh Boy! How utterly extraordinary. Lynda Bellingham is reading!!! Had I known I would have made the effort to attend but I'm sure it is a recording and were it not these Songs of Praise always limit access to the regulars, quite understandably. I haven't met with Lynda Bellingham for years and with the opportunity of Hayley possibly gaining me some attention I should love to have tried to see Lynda. How extraordinary that I drew on memories of my time playing open-air Shakespeare in my post of Gawsworth Hall just recently. Lynda Bellingham is a little younger than I and sometimes we were involved in the same plays in our teenage years. I recall one performance when the line 'These lovers here upon the damp and dirty ground' brought forth an unintended laugh as the ground was indeed damp and dirty through a week of rain and we had to lay down plastic sheets before the lovers were 'found' so as not to ruin their costumes! In one of those performances the ground was particularly soggy and Lynda, playing Puck, rushed on from an upstage entry, slipped on the damp and dirty ground and slid on her bottom nearly forty feet to the front of the stage, throwing up a great shower of spray as she did so! So Hayley, will you allow me to be cheeky and if you happen to be reading this, Lynda won't know me as Postscript but MAY remember me as Peter Such and if she doesn't remember, mention landing on her bottom and sliding half-way across the stage towards the audience in 'The Dream' when a teenager!. Now that gives you an excuse for a contributory post on your own fan site without favouring any one of us, since the excuse would be the uniqueness of the post! Peter S. PS: I was going to pull this post when i realised I was most wrong in attributing blame to Richard. The fault is entirely mine, I should have paid attention to the thread but missed the fact we were crossing years! The cause was dog trouble, perhaps more later on an appropriate thread, probably photography. Then I discovered Drew had commented and I also felt that it was an entertaining little story that might amuse so I have merely added this correction/update with fuisome apologies to Richard for so terribly wrongly accusing him!. Peter

Oh Richard, you confused me utterly! That fact sheet related to 2005! Peter

Peter, I am sure that Richard did not mean to confuse. Above is the program for next Sunday. Richard quoted the program from last year to demonstrate that it was a different song for Hayley. At least it generated a delightful story from the postscript archives.

I do tend to rush into things with all six feet flailing in the air but I have an excuse this time, I have spent today rushing around after someone else's dog, so I never had time to properly absorb in detail and sequence. More on that perhaps anon. I had actually come back (since I was aware of the faux pas before I last left the site) to remove that post but had to drop everything in mid-air.. However, thinking on it and in the light of your recent post (as much as to keep sense of the thread) I will merely add a postscript to the original postscript post to clarify for posterity what on earth was going on! Thank you Drew. Peter

Hello Peter and Drew! Thanks for giving me a good laugh this morning! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifHonestly, I was trying hard not to confuse anybody, which was why I only posted a link to last year's factsheet and not a transcript. For the benefit of any new readers, I've changed one word in my previous post, but not in Peter's quote. Seeing all the detailed information that the BBC put on the factsheets, I'm surprised they don't give the date of the recording. If they did, we would know if the two shows from Lincoln Cathedral were recorded on the same day or separately. Happy viewing next Sunday! Richard

Hi everyone! The video is absolutely lovely! Hayley looks and sounds beautiful, and the setting really complements the theme of the song. I understand Hayley sang this live, right? Oksy
