I had an amazing day yesterday and I've got to find some time to write it all down. I've been busy running all around NYC. Once I do I will be sure to post my review/adventures and pictures.

Radio City Music Hall/ Barnes&Noble 3/17/07

Let me just start off by saying that this day had to be the best day in my entire life. Nothing could have gone wrong and nothing did, well except my jeans were soaked, thanks to the snow, when I was walking to Barnes&Noble but meeting all the girls made up for it. As I immediately arrived into the signing room, I saw Lisa, Hayley, Mairead, Chloe and Orlagh all sitting at a table, smiling and signing away. A security person told me to go to the other side and wait until it was our turn.

As I turned around, I saw Chloe's mom and sister, Naomi. I went up to them and said hi and shook hands with them and then I took my seat. While I was waiting, I befriended these three people who were big fans of CW and two of them actually saw the show Friday night so we got into a big discussion about CW and that was really nice. Finally it was our time to get on line and wait to get our things signed. (I took a video of them signing stuff and talking to their fans and some pictures as well. If anyone's interested in seeing it, I'll post it here.)

A lady took my DVD slip and asked what my name was and gave it to Lisa. When Lisa looked up at me and smiled, I just completely lost it. I thought I would be calm and cool but I just bawled in front of her. It was embarassing to say the least. The lady that had asked my name offered to take our picture and Lisa asked Hayley to be in it too. I just became all shy and quiet so I quickly handed Lisa my pink sharpie and she said "Ooohhh, pink!" I told her I would be at the concert tonight and she seemed really happy and told me to cheer them on really loudly and shout a lot I told her I would cry when she would sing The Voice and said that it was ok because it's towards the end of the show. I also thanked her for posting on this forum here because it really is sweet and generous of Lisa to be so nice to her fans.

I moved on to Hayley and I talked to her a little bit about her charity work and said thanks and bye. She handed my DVD slip to Chloe but forgot to give her the pink sharpie but when she did remember, she turned and made a little "Oh no" face and said sorry. Then next it was Mairead... I just went full speed on her and I hoped she heard everything that I said but I went on talking about how she is such an inspiration to me whenever she plays her violin. I told her I play the viola and she got all happy and said really. I mentioned that I had an audition on Wednesday for NYSSMA and I was playing a Level Five song, "Concerto in G Minor", and she said "Wow, well, we'll all be thinking of you on Wednesday. Give it your all! Good luck!" Chloe wished me good luck as well and then the last person was Orlagh.

Orlagh looks gorgeous with her straight hair and is a really pretty red-head. We shook hands and she seemed so geniunely nice when she greeted me. She also wished me good luck on my audition! I asked if I could take a picture of them three and they happily said yes. After everything I was on Cloud 9. It all seemed so surreal to me, I actually got to meet my idols. I never knew I would meet them because generally to meet them you would have to buy a M&G ticket or just have really good luck at catching them on the streets. These girls are the most down-to-earth, warm, sincere, and [add on any other synonyms for nice] performers I have ever met. I still couldn't believe that I actually talked to them and shook hands with them... I still can't believe it.

I hung around for a little bit to see if they were going to do anything else and in the meanwhile, I was back to talking about CW and other random stuff with the people before. Then I sat down and Naomi walked by and sat behind me. I asked her a question but she couldn't hear me so I got up and we just started talking about anything. I found out she was going to the concert tonight so when she had to look for her mom, she hugged me goodbye and said hopefully I'll see you there. She is the exact replica of Chloe, they look so much alike. All of the girls stood up for one last photo shoot and left and with that, I went to RCMH to pick up my ticket.

Dave Kavanagh, a guy from PBS, Scott Porter and David Downes talked to the audience before the concert started. They were talking about CW and how it came to be and how they were all so extremely astounded and proud of their success. Some people from the audience shouted out remarks that were pretty funny, like "HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!," "I LOVE YOU" (to Dave, which he responded back "I love you too" ). It wasn't boring at all and pretty darn funny and entertaining but soon it was time for Celtic Woman to take the stage.

Might I add that the stage looked freakin' fantastic. Everything was gorgeous and really helped create an ethreal images in my mind. The lighting was spectacular but I'll talk about that later.

The Sky, The Dawn, The Sun: Mairead comes out majestically onto the stage and plays the first opening notes. I was stunned at how the lighting and smoke made Mairead looked like a fiddlin' playin' goddess. The girls harmonized beautifully together and everything sounded perfect. Mairead was as energetic as ever and the audience got a real good kick out of it and started clapping along. The song was a great opener and I'm sure the audience was ready for the next.

Caledonia: Lisa was up next and I knew this song was going to be amazing. And without a doubt, Lisa did amazing. She sounds great live and even better than the recording. Lisa is such a graceful performer, when she walks she seems like she's floating and perhaps it was the smoke and the lights reflecting off of her but towards the end when she is singing along with the pipes, she truly looked like an angel and that will always be my favorite memory of that concert.

The Butterfly: Mairead, what a sight to see. She really knows how to get the audience going and I knew the audience was ready to hear her again. She just kept on jumping around everywhere and at one point, I think I saw her hair get a little bit stuck on the tip of her bow but she just kept on going and a second later, the hair just slid off. It's as if her feet were on fire and she just had to keep on moving around. I really wish I could be like her whenever I play the viola.

Danny Boy: I was so excited to hear how Hayley would sound and she did not dissapoint. Every note she hit was at the perfect pitch and overall, she sounded fantastic. At one point, my head slowly fell on my shoulder and it felt like I was drifting towards a happy place. Hayley's sweet voice was very relaxing and refreshing.

The Prayer: Chloe sounded soo good. Every high note she sang made me burst out crying because I was thinking of my grandpa. I even had to grab my Kleenex tissues.. she was just that good.

Siuil A Run Orlagh never dissapoints me. She always sounds terrific and I love bobbing my head to this song whenever she sings. Her little body motions are so cute and she looked like she was having fun with this song.

Orinoco Flow This song was great! Lisa, Hayley and Orlagh sounded great together and the little dance made the song even more entertaining to watch. They were all in sync with the chorus members when they were dancing and it was a crowd pleaser.

Beyond The Sea: I love this song! I was waiting so long to hear it live and it couldn't have been any better. Hayley sounded great during Meav's part and almost sounded just like her at one point. This is such a powerful and moving song to me and I love CW's interpretation of it.

The Blessing: Wow. Lisa.. because of this song, you have made me love you even more. This song along with The Voice was the best Lisa songs, imo. Her voice was soft and pure and the same thing that happened to me during Danny Boy happened again. I truly felt like Lisa was singing just to me. She also went a little bit higher on the last words "And you bless me too.."

Scarborough Fair: My favorite Hayley song. With John playing the pipes, Hayley sang this song beautifully and soulfully. At the end of the song, Hayley looked so happy and gave a big smile and said thank you and skipped off the stage.

Vivaldi's Rain: Chloe sounds so cute when she sings this song. It has such a light, airy feeling around it and the little rain sound effect was a nice touch. The song is too short for me, I wish it was a bit longer but still, Chloe was wonderful in this. I have to say, Chloe is the one of the most consistent singers in CW. Not that I'm saying the rest of the girls aren't, but compared to how she sang at the concert last night to the TNJ DVD and the CD, she sounds exactly the same.. perfect, is one way to describe it.

Over The Rainbow: This song was a great group song. The harmonies were great and they all sounded like one big, magnificent voice altogether. I love the ending a lot and when they sang it perfectly, it sounded like angels singing sweetly.
It's so hard to describve how wonderful it was to hear this song live.

Mo Ghile Mear: Perfect song to end the first act. It's such a fun song and watching the girls having fun up there made me smile so much. The drum solo was awesome, it was LOUD, DRAMATIC, and just CRAZY! Then Mairead comes running down and just playing like she's a speed demon. Her intonation is amazing and how she plays it so fast.. I'll never know. They ended the first act with a big bang and I was so excited for the next act.

We already knew it but the CW official website made it official : Hayley won't be touring during the new dates.

As you may know, new tour dates have been added for th month of June, and Meav will be performing these dates right until the final concert in Wolftrap.[/i]

It sounds as though Hayley has really settled into the tour, and it must have been a great performance by all the girls, as it was on the 'New Journey' DVD. That TV appearance with Martha Stewart really didn't do them justice, but I'm a lot happier now I've read that review. I can't wait either for Caite's review.
But it's nice to hear that Hayley progressively makes her place within the CW group. The audience seems to appreciate her a lot; so hopefully it will bring a new wave of fans for Hayley.

For the record, there is another review of the Mohegan Sun Arena CW concert at Hayley's official website under the "Hayley Live and in Concert" category. The poster describes a very different experience, with Hayley joyous, confident, upbeat, having fun, singing beautifully, etc....No mention whatsoever of her missing a note. Makes you wonder about agendas.

She possibly never missed a note; it could be due to defective sound.
But you're definitely right when you say people tend to have different visions of each concert. They enjoy it differently, but at the end it's all the same, they love Hayley no matter what.

HI Guys-

Right when Hayley began Danny Boy she put her hand up to her ear like she COULDN'T hear so that might have contributed. I'll get back to this later. I know I'm keeping you guys hanging, but I'm not home yet. I need to get home and organized. I will be posting pictures from Barnes and Noble, as well as after the concert...which has a GREAT story to go with that.
