Miriam has no where near the international recognition that Hayley has. I had never heard of her before Adiemus, and have never heard or seen advertised any of her solo albums. I only think of her as working with Karl Jenkins. Was her voice on Music of the Spheres?
Hayley I think is also a much more verstile singer than Miriam. I think Miriam and Hayley are so different that you can't draw ant concluson about Hayley's colaboration with KJ from Miriam's.

Well, certainly, the cover as we can see it won't help...

Surely it doesn't make a difference if Hayley is well known already or not. You either know of someone or you don't. If anything, chances are that the majority of KJs audience have already heard of Hayley, so they know whether they like her or not already.
We are talking on an international stage here, I wouldn't presume to be so anglo-centric with it, but as it happens, when Miriam Stockley released 'Eternal' here it had a massive display all to itself in a Virgin Megastore I went to - I also saw it advertised. But not her two previous albums - but at the time her debut was released, I wouldn't have paid any attention (1999) and her second album wasn't released here.
Miriam was a big part of the Adiemus project, and I can't help but think that Hayley isn't really going to be the centre of attention of this release. She'll have a page in the CD booklet with a mini biography, and she'll be name dropped in initial press releases, but nothing more. That, and I don't this think project will sell to quite the same level as Adiemus in the first place. She's not even going to sing at the premiere (I imagine she will do some future performances though - Rhydian has been brought along to some KJ concerts since they worked together).
I'm not saying this won't win her any new fans, I'm just saying, it's not going to make a huge difference. Outside Adiemus (and to a lesser extent, The Armed Man), Karl Jenkins isn't particularly international either.
But all of that is just a footnote as to what this means to me personally. I love Karl Jenkins. I love Hayley. I'm really excited about them working together. And Ennio Morricone later this year. She's just picking out my favourite composers! Maybe it will be Dario Marianelli and Patrick Doyle next! XD

Hi Nicola,
Yes, I'm sure it will be mostly KJ's reputation that will sell this CD, but having Hayley on board will help too. We don't know how much of Hayley there is, but she was in the studio for only 2 days IIRC. So I'm sure you are right about her simply having a bit part rather than the whole thing built around her like Adiemus was with Miriam.

If anything, Hayley will be introducing fans to Karl! XD

Well, it said she was the star soloist; that sounds pretty important to me! I'm going to keep my hopes up about it until I'm proven otherwise, despite your pessimism. No, I'm hoping it'll be Howard Shore next, which would be even better for Hayley if it's for what I'm hoping it will be... but that could be at least 2 years from now, the way things are going.

Thanks Richard!! Very promising! I wonder why it is called 'I'll Make Music'? Is that a title of a song? Or a movement? I thought that it was called Gloria? Cheers, Jillian

Hmm... Too short for a movement. I would think that's a very short part of it, we can't call that even a song. To me, as it could be the beginning of one movement.

That was nice, but a little slow. It'd take more than that to get me to buy it. So I really hope the rest is a lot better.

Thanks Richard, I do like that, nice and relaxing, my kind of music (when I'm in that mood!). I've embedded it as our featured audio on visiting the HWI main page, I hope members and other visitors will prefer it to the "getting old" Winter Magic medley that we had before. I wonder if Hayley will get onto Breakfast or daytime TV with Karl? She managed it with Mike Oldfield's album! Cheers, Dave

I'll buy this album regardless. Hayley AND Karl? It's as good as bought already!
The piece sounds pretty. <3
